Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Open your heart and expand but keep the shell of the turtle and go inside regularly listening to your intuition for protection”. “Slow and Steady Wins the Race”.

Are you ready?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Driving into town, my first reaction was, DEFINITELY NOT! There were the usual cars, bikes, lines, congestion, open tables lined up in the parking lot and we are a  small town of 5,500.  My first thoughts were “Covid, where are you?”

Sorry, I know that sounds awful and truly DON’T wish it on anyone and hope we eradicate it ASAP but it my first thought if I’m to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, I want this over as quickly as it started but it was a shockeroo and I hadn’t realized how much I was beginning to love the empty streets and quiet.

At the same time our economy has suffered and the pressure to open up is huge and I totally get it as a small business owner myself.

Instead of my usual reaction looking through rose colored glasses, being the pisces that I am, I have become much more of a realist.  I usually see people sick up close and personal since my immune system is strong but those times are gone for right now.  I am also very aware that even if I felt I wasn’t at risk, I would never jeopardize my clients, family or friends to this dreaded disease.

Fear creates more fear and weakens our immune function so keeping positive thoughts, energy, eating healthy food, exercising, meditating and saying affirmations are essential to staying healthy.

PLEASE be sensible and respectful as we’re opening up.

Our talk in yoga this week was simple;

“Open your heart and expand but keep the shell of the turtle and go inside regularly listening to your intuition for protection”. “Slow and Steady Wins the Race”.

Come to Yoga class with us and strengthen your muscles, your spirit and resolve to a healthy lifestyle while you UnWine🍷d and Chillax on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Livestream of course. Let us know if you want to join us and we will send you the link.

When people get back together as we saw with the protests and now we’re witnessing with socializing again, it is often too close for comfort with hugs, no masks, sipping out of each others glasses etc.  Add alcohol in the mix and all distancing goes out the window.

The result….NUMBERS RISE!!!!

I haven’t even hugged my mother yet. I Love you Mom.

I’m seeing people more than ever that are tired, depressed, lonely, down, have anxiety, stressed, are working more than ever trying to figure out how to navigate this new world for many different reasons (at a distance of course). This is a great article by Health-line if you are interested with some great insights and tips.  https://www.healthline.com/health-news/quarantine-fatigue-is-real-heres-how-to-cope

I’m not ready but I’m told it’s time to open up.  With numbers spiking, I’m taking a wait and see approach and moving mindfully and slowly.

Here is what I will be offering to help you stay Fit and Healthy at this point in time:

  1. Personal Training and Group Classes are available, and we are continuing to do them online for now.
  2. I have a meeting with CAMTC to hear the current guidelines and expect we will be opening for massage mid July or early August if things in fact continue to level out.
  3. I am continuing to see people at a distance with the same protocol:
    1. 6 feet distance
    2. Both therapist and client wearing a mask
    3. Therapist wearing a face shield as well
    4. Hand Washing
    5. Disinfectant for hands
    6. All tables and machines wiped down
    7. Temperatures will be taken with a Questionnaires answered before session
    8. Clients will be staggered when coming
    9. No one will be in the same room that day:  One client and therapist in one room that day
    10. Massage will start with feet only until we feel comfortable
    11. No oral mouth work will be done

None of us are invinsible so I’ll see you in a mask, with sanitizer, and a 6 ft pole. Of course we won’t recognize each other but brighter days are coming if we can go the distance. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

See you soon.

Stay Safe and Stay Strong,

I completely understand why it’s important to try and open things up again for economic reasons but I really wish people would take the safety rules more seriously because you’re not only putting yourself in danger but others too. I have seen a lot of people without masks really close to each other and it’s kind of sad to see people not doing the bare minimum to stop the spread.

I agree it is so important to be mindful of each other in this social distancing.
I do like the fact that there is less congestion at this time. It is lovely to hear the birds and see the trees looking so much more vibrant in color all of nature seems much brighter.cleaner air etc.
I love your candor you are So honest and clear a beautiful writer.

The factor that did more harm than the COVID itself has been fear. Following SOPs doesn’t really mean getting frightened and closing businesses!

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
