Somedays fun is just feeling blessed for a new day. It’s not always bells and whistles and sugar and spice and everything nice and that’s ok.

Fun Fri-Yay turned Freaky overnight. From 108 temperatures Tuesday to 68 the next, days have been eerie and unpredictable. I tossed and turned all night and even the animals were restless. On a canoe one day with prisine weather and then everything went dark overnight. The sun never came up and at 8 a.m. as I worked with a client that morning and we both agreed it felt like earthquake weather. My daughter says, “there is no causation between muggy, still weather” and I say, “what does she know”. “They” also say there is no climate and we know that’s crazy. All I know is the dogs and cats were going ballistic and they act on instinct so I kept them in all day. We’ve never had anything like it before that I can remember anyway. By 11:00 a.m. it was clear that the night was here to stay and by 3:00 it seemed like 8:00 p.m. It was so acropolyptic… out of the twilight zone, eerie in a weird way and I have to say I rather liked it. I love those days that aren’t predictable and keep you on your toes. I kept running in and out to take pictures between clients but could never capture the actual lighting and depth of what I was seeing.

outside our house Sept. 9th Woodside, Ca

I just wanted to curl up on the couch with my animals and put the T.V. on which I never do which caught me by surprise. I got texts and calls from some freaking out. It did feel like a sci fi movie in and of itself.

I actually debated on teaching yoga with so much ash in the air and unsafe air quality levels but what’s better than yoga when the sky is falling or it feels like it is. Lol! It was exactly “what the doctor ordered” one on our yogini’s said and it was beautiful to come together in movement and prayer. We did a “rain dance” (no luck there), sent blessings to the fire fighters and to those who have lost loved ones to suicide and others who feel threatened by internal thoughts in honor of suicide prevention month. We counted our blessings and whined and wined as we toasted. I read the poem “Rise” from Maria Teresa Pratico’s poetry book one of our talented word press friends known as Ladysag77 at Emotional Musings which was beautiful and capped off our night.

Friend Walter Cook’s images

Last night was another night of wrestlessness for all as we banged into each other. I stared at the ceiling for hours the animals out the window, adjusted pillows, tried to get comfortable but nothing helped. We all have those nights, except my husband who can sleep through anything most of the time. I thought I may as well get up and get a jump start to my day but thought better of it when I finally drifted off to sleep.

This morning I woke up with a stiff neck, am late with my post and it isn’t feeling like “Fun Fri-Yay”. It dawned on me as if by surprise it was 9/11 and one of my Godson’s birthday. It’s Hard to imagaine 19 years ago we faced this horrific tragedy and the suffering of the attack still lingers for many. My heart goes out to all that have been affected and to New York. We have rebuilt Ground Zero thankfully in the same way we will rebuild from Covid.

Twin Towers

Happy Birthday Aidan a blessing and a gift which brings light to the day and to all of those others who share this birthday. May we remember that we will rise again stronger better and unitied.

So my “Fun Fri-Yay” Friends, today my fun is going to be a walk, some yoga, talking with some of you, writing and getting back in my jammies and watching T.V. with my aniamals.

Have a wonderful weekend and many blessings to you!

Please like (if you do of course), comment and or share if you feel inclined. I truly appreciate you reading and supporting me.

Reading your post Cindy I felt all those emotions. Sun plays such a major role in our lives that we may take it for granted sometimes. Just like you I like to curl up with my dogs. You deserve a rest day Cindy and it isn’t a Friday Fun day if your post doesn’t show up in the feed. Relax and enjoy the Fun day. 🥰❤️

I can understand Cindy and feel so grateful and honoured for you to think of me in a way you think. 🥰😍. You have to never think twice before asking anything from me Cindy. Whatever is possible in my capacity I’ll do. A poem is nothing Cindy just a careful arrangement of words. I’ll definitely convert your emotions to a poem to maybe match your feelings. You have a great day too Cindy. 😘😍🥰

Here you go Cindy, I hope this reflects the some you wanted.. 😇Written just for you..
The eerie silence of the mornings,
Sometimes burn the forests inside me,
For they bring omens that may not be entirely bad,
The cryptic sounds my bed makes,
Songs silent and loud,
That famish my mind of thoughts,
And I sunk to my houses unstable,
Built on foundations numb,
That slowly evade into darkness,
Every time the sky turns ambers,
Not like the fire,
The Sun maybe,
Horizons turn red,
As I rest for a breath,
The air too skinny now…..

Well Cindy the first poem I wrote was terrible. I did post it on my blog way back in maybe 2015. But I did post it because I wanted myself to give the courage to write again. You have to keep on trying until you find the nice recipe to go with your thoughts and stick to it. Sometimes you may experiment but for that you’ll have to keep on trying. I have said it before and will say again. You should post your work. But you should be comfortable with it first. Believe me feedback here helps a lot and I am pretty sure the way you express your emotions, it won’t be a much difficult task for you. 😇❤️

That’s the beauty of your work Cindy. Why stick with a single idea? So many things I have learnt from you. Writing about only one thing would be monotonous don’t you think? Also, you are not here to show off your writing skills or anything like that. You write for yourself and that should always be true objective of one’s writing. We cannot please everyone so why not start with oneself.
❤️😇

And Cindy don’t stress on it too much. It will come to you at the right time. 😇
Relax today, watch tv or read, snuggle up with the animals. You deserve a day off. 😇

I could actually feel the restlessness. It must have been so crazy and eerie. But an unpredictable day often leaves us with memories.
Have an amazing weekend ahead Cindy.

I like the idea of apocalyptic yoga: sounded very soothing. I hope all is well where you are. You do well to stay calm and embrace the strangeness 🙏

So enjoyed this post!! Thanks so much for sharing this on 9/11!!! Especially loved your line – “We did a “rain dance” (no luck there), sent blessings to the fire fighters” – Cracked me up with the “Rain Dance”!!
Have a great day! My heart aches for all the fires everywhere but especially in California – A California Boy, living in Texas – Sacramento loved it there but had to retire in Texas. I really miss my roadtrips. Get up Saturday morning at 7 a.m. and take off for Tahoe, Reno, Sonoma or SF and be back home before 5 pm. Texas is so D**n flat you have to drive 8 hours to get any other geography! – Sorry for going on and on and on! LOL

Oh my goodness this post is beautiful Cindy, like your yoga friend remarked, “exactly what the doctor ordered”! I’m still processing my trip because it was that impactful, transformational and magically amazing!!! Everything truly happens and unfolds in divine time so sublimely 🥰 These opportunities to shift swiftly at times is a shake up and a nudge to keep you vigilant. It’s important to roll with it as you did. It becomes a lesson. I will be writing a post soon after I rest and process some more❤ Always o pleasure to have your words in my feed❤

It was like reading a sci-fi script, only this happened really and even I feel restless reading and imagining the whole scenario per your words of imagery. Glad things are calm now. You deserve all the rest and comfort in the world❤
Though if I was there with you I’d probably be like your hubby and sleep through it ’cause that’s a trait of mine😅
Happy birthday and blessings to Aiden as well. Enjoy the weekend, Cindy!💚❤

They closed all the National Forests in CA because of the forest fires. They did this the day after we left. Luckily we were able to see them! We drove through Yosemite at night and I got some crazy pictures of the fires.

I’m not home yet! We are still in South Dakota. We will see Mt Rushmore today and then we still have a two day drive.
The views in Sequoia & Yosemite were not good because of all the ash but the trees were still awesome!!!

Surreal is thew word that keeps coming to my mind, Cindy. We can see a couple of hundred yards outside, but that’s it. There is certainly no going outside and working or walking, which we try to do every day when we are home. The air pollution here is some of the worst in the world now. It does make for interesting photography, however, and I love the shot of the moon and the limbs. Very Halloween-ish. 🙂 We will continue to monitor the fires and hope they stay away. Oh yes, and do our Qigong. –Curt

The world feels so off this year, Cindy. I too live in fire country. Between the red skies, the smoke, the virus, the strange temps… it does feel apocalyptic. I’m glad that yoga and prayer brings a sense of peace. Happy Birthday to your Godson… a lovely reminder on 9/11 that life and hope continue. <3

Sorry to hear about this. As if the pandemic is not enough. I wish I could have joined your yoga class and practiced in solidarity. Oh well, at least you are able to cope and calm your animals. Wearing pajamas is a good choice to invite comfort, too. Well done!
