Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

I am so sad and shell shocked once again by the mass shootings, along with the suicide rate rising as I’m sure you are as well. This is a reflection of the inner pressures that build, creating a rage internally that gets displaced by either turning outward or inward. Seek help NOW if you are suffering from thoughts of destruction and save your life and the lives of others. Thoughts are only thoughts so don’t judge yourself, but actions are irreplaceable. Pick up the phone and get help NOW. My heart goes out to all of the families and friends that have lost someone.

Thank you so much for dropping in today. Life is precious and so are you. I truly appreciate your time to like (if you do of course), comment and or share if you are inclined. Take good care of you!

Blessings of love,

๐Ÿ’–

Cindy

Such a terrible, and unnecessary, tragedy. Yes, if we are dealing with something we can’t cope with then we have a responsibility to get help. And there is help available.

Cindy, well said. The mass shootings are horrible, but we lose sight of what happens every day. The number one cause of gun deaths in the US, by far, is suicides. All it takes is one impulsive act and a life is over. Homes where access to a firearm is present have a higher propensity to suicide, so when people are depressed or despondent, it is a fair question for a doctor to ask is a gun a present.

There are some changes to gun governance which even gun owners support. Now that the NRA is in a state of disarray after the leaders were removed foe embezzling funds, Senators and Representatives need to act on at least these measures. We need these legislators to think like parents and spouses and less like lobby-funded drones. Keith

I love you and your heart. I bought a yard sign that says โ€œyou matter very muchโ€ praying that ANYONE (especially the children on the 3 buses that pass my house everyday) who reads it knows they matter! I was at the rock bottom before and sought help. I pray everyone can but sadly, many wonโ€™t. Thank you for being a shining ray of light! โ˜€๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค—โฃ๏ธ

A family I know; the dad committed suicide and 5 years later his son hanged himself wearing the same colour dress as his dad and at the same time the same way ๐Ÿ™
Life is so precious, I really wonder what goes through the brain before taking the decision to end ones life.
My heart goes out to those people as well .. who have lost someone. They would have so many unanswered questions isnโ€™t it?

It is overwhelmingly sad and my heart bleeds for those affected by the tragic violence. I often ask myself, why? As humans, you’d think we could have moved above those acts by now. We are better than that, aren’t we? Yet, the relentless stresses affecting many people continue. It comes at us from all sides of life, there is no escaping, especially if our moral compass got damaged on our life path.

Thank you for posting this, Cindy. My late husband committed suicide in 2011 and I found him afterwards. With this pandemic, suicides have skyrocketed and it breaks my heart. My prayers go out to everyone who has ever been effected by suicide. My prayers also go out to the city of Boulder, the shooting victims and their families.

I’m so sorry to hear this @Cherie. May God continue to comfort you for your loss.

I think we sometimes get too busy to pay attention to mental health. A lot of people are going through secret storms. Our world needs healing and it starts in human minds.
We need to continually lift people in our prayers for courage and strength to sail through every storm. We also need to have each other’s back. No one should
be silent for too long, no one should be smiling but sinking inside.
We need to see people’s hearts through the lens of love.

Stay safe and blessed, my friend.
God loves you

People and politicians glorify guns, which is rather astounding considering that most of them (at least handguns and military style weapons) have only one intended use and purpose – killing people.

It is just heartbreaking, Cindy. I’ve mentioned the mass shootings as well today, because even here in Germany – where people hardly ever own or carry guns – these horrible crimes are discussed. This has been going on for way to long. I’m so sad. And regarding suicide, yes, my friends and I have lost so many people, too. It started when I was 14 and it also hasn’t stopped yet. The pandemic has made it worse. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings! All we can do is stick together and enjoy every day of our lives, I guess- Take care… ๐ŸŒธ

It’s a tragedy yes. It’s also a reflection of soul health. People are feeling detached, overwhelmed, overworked, misunderstood etc. This is a cry out for help that many don’t receive because our system is so broken. The stigma, the levels of care and the lack of overall empathy. Our world is shifting in so many ways and in time I know our systems will too. In the meantime if we all could show more love and compassion as you said here Cindy, what an amazing impact it can have โคโคโค

So tragic and senseless. I donโ€™t know if you are familiar with the national alliance mental illness
(NAMI) I think it is an international organization. You may want to put it out to your readers so if anyone knows of someone that needs help they can refer them. There are many organizations tthat can be contacted Behavioral health also suicide prevention etc. mental health is a disease no different than any other disease . Stop the stigma and take care of ourselves.
Such sad times we must all be proactive.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping, Cindy, and I’ve noticed I’m clenching my jaw. So much stress and so much sadness. It wears down even the most upbeat people. My family is a victim of gun violence and each time it happens, again and again, the persistent inability to make even the slightest change to make our world safer is mystifying and depressing. Mental health treatment is essential, but so is making the world a safer kinder place so mental health isn’t at risk to begin with. Thanks for the kind and positive message, my friend.
