Happy Friday friends and Earth Day (I didn’t forget about it but was knee deep). To me, Earth Day is everyday and honoring our pachamama daily is a vital necessity.
Besides, I’ve been sooooo excited to have a little fun with The Tricketer Himself!
“Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me”!
I got text from our neighbor at 1:30 a.m. saying that the coyotoes were in our backyard singing in the howlng Choir. I didn’t hear them (thanks to bad hearing and my hearing aide out) and Hunter wasn’t going ballistic.
They HAD 75 guinea foul, (If you have ever woken up and gone to sleep with 75 of them squaking you might be looking for a shot gun). to pick the ticks off the the 6 goats that are the official lawn mowers of their property, chickens and turkeys (those are all gone now too). Luckily for us, unfortunately for them; nature took care of the problem. They have tortises, rabbits, 2 or 3 miniture ponies, 2 llamas, a cat and 6 dogs. Ok therein lies the food source for my thrice daily visits from the coyote.
Last year a mountain lion jumped their fence and took down 2 of their goats and the coyote drug off the remains. Their dogs and the coyotes ate all of the quinea fowl and chickens one by one so the food source is going down THANK GOD. LOVE THEM…. AND BUT…… SAD, I KNOW. But as the saying goes… “walk in someone elses shoes”.
Sooooo, the poor coyote is now left to look for food elsewhere and now that we know the source of the problem, we handle one portion of it. Sure enough, he was coming for the Date palm seeds and I caught him or one of them on camera here in action. Let’s be clear, he’d rather have a cat so before you feel too sorry for him cuz he’s skinny, let’s remember he is an uninvited guest.

The pictures are from my kitchen window so not to clear but that is where my hot tub is and and where our animals are othen. Well were, until we stopped letting the cats out unless we’re with them of course. Hunter could take him, but I don’t want to risk him being dinner, especially if the pack comes to lure him off.
Sooooo, now that we knew the problem we knew what to do so we got to it!
The cycle of life can drive you crazy if you let it so why not make it a game. It’s the memories you’ll remember and how you approach it, rather than the catch. Never give up trying and laughing because eventually you’ll find the solution or you’ll die trying. Just keep laughing….. It feels better!

YAYYYYYYY. The thousands of seeds are all gone and we’re sooooo hoping this does the trick! Hunter is the best babysitter seen above as he is guarding Star, our once feral. Now if this doesn’t do the trick, I don’t know what will. hahahahha!

We have people move our signs to pull in and turn around in our driveway daily which is getting soooo old. I do hope the coyote can read better than them. 🤣
Have a great weekend and have some fun whatever you do. Life is too short not to. We will hopefully get our garden planted this weekend and get one last precious night with our daughter when she gets back from the wedding she has been at in San Louis Obispo, Ca and hopefull she will arrive with a nice bottle of wine. Hint hint.
Blessings of love and laughter always,
💖

Oh my goodness the coyote saga continues! I hope you’ve seen the last of him 😅🙏🙏❤️
It’s like your Lockdown stories I think. 🤷♀️
😅
😘
Are they back???oh!!😔😔
They’ve never left. _:( lights.. springlers etc!💖
Oops .. I thought you got rid of them, I can remember your situation when it hurt your back.
awww you’re sweet. It’s not that easy. Hoping thye gate works!!!💖💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
💖💖
💕
💖
I think you should begin by teaching them the Alphabet….soon they’ll be reading and probably obeying your signs diligently. 😉
Someday, maybe someday 😉
Maybe begin with the English Alphabet, Cindy.
They love hovering around your place….soon they’ll be reading and probably obeying your instructions 😉 😉
Fingers crossed Rue! They probably think I’ll invite them in for dinner but I would be soooo happy if they would only learn to read, lol! 💖
I could hire the coyote to help with the ground squirrel problem. As it is, I catch them and transport them across the river to BLM land, where coyotes, rattlesnakes, hawks, eagles, and foxes welcome them with open mouths. At least, I give them a fighting chance! The neighbors just shoot them. 🙂
The deer with their rapacious appetites are the problem here. That’s where the games come in. After ten years, however, the plants they like are behind deer proof fences and the plants that give them tummy aches are available for chomping, which, for the most part, they don’t.
The really obnoxious ones I chat with about how I like venison stew. Not that they listen. I suspect it’s kind of like the coyotes reading your sign, Cindy. Have a great weekend. –Curt
🤣🤣🤣🤣 hahahaha That’s a great call Curt. Now if I could figure out how to transport them to you, I sure would. Open mouths… too funny and yeah they should be thanking their lucky stars. Do you really transport them? like in what and how many at a time? I have those as well.
We used to have the deer and now none of those so I feel your pain with the plants.
what do you get when you cross a deer and a coyotee?
You have a great weened too, thanks! 💖
WOW! I am so glad there is some progress here for you all! Awesome. Have a wonderful weekend, Cindy! ❤️
Thanks Jeff and you too!
💖
I wish I knew what to suggest! That’s easy and practical!
Thanks so much. Me too.
The lights or water aren’t working but pretty sure the fence and gate will.
You’re very kind to check in! 💖👏
And the coyotes return😅😅
Enjoy your wine, Auntie♥️
Thank you my sweet niece Akshita!
The wine will be well deserved, thank you! You are assuming a lot. 😂!
Let’s see how it goes! 💕

You’re so kind. 🙏🙏❤️
You too are kind and sweet Cindy. Much love and light ❤️❤️
Happy weekend dear Cindy. It’s not that easy to get rid of Coyotes. We here have the same problem with coyotes and its howling.
I’ve never seen a coyote that close before. It must have been a nice experience. You’re so lucky.😃
If it wasn’t on my property, it would have been just fine but with my animals at risk, it’s quite disconcerting! Thanks for the visit! 🙏
Wow! you really do have a time with your coyotes! Keep an eye on you pets, they may disappear otherwise like the neighbors fowl! Have a great weekend!
Dwight
These coyotes are becoming your never ending trouble!!?? I wish that it may learn to read and stay out!! 😃😃😃
I’m leaving a sign tomorrow in Hindi, spanish and Chinese just in case they don’t understand English. That was lisa’s idea…. lol~🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 That’s funny Cindy….
anything for a laugh right!!!! No need to answer…
Hey, dear Cindy…. All your posts are showing twice in your page!? 😲😲 Is that an error that you didn’t know? Just want to let you know…..
Oh Lordy….. thanks sooo much. I’m switching over to self hosting. Can you say more about showing up twice in my page?
I’m sure it’s an error. YIKES and thanks a lot!!!
Please keep me posted! 🙏🙏🙏
Can you see what I see? I am not sure why it’s like that, but probably it’s a glitch that happens sometimes. I thought I missed 4 of your posts yesterday, but the actual count was two!!!! 😂😂 WP doesn’t offer all comforts even if we pay money. 😭😭
You’re sweet to let me know Preeths. I’m hoping it will all settle in as I’m told. NAY… spend more, more problems lol.. but oh the promises made. lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I so appreciate you! 💖🌷🌷
How nice. On a lighter note coyotes on your side can read the warning signs.
How do you know the coyotes speak English? Why not Spanish or Chinese? 🌞
good point…. more signs coming !!! lol!🤣
🤣😂😜
🤣❤️🤣
💖

If I did unfollow you accidentally, I don’t remember doing it. I saw that you liked a bunch of my posts today. Thanks! I will keep my eyes open for strange happenings. 🌞👍😘

😊🌹❤️💕🥰🌺😊
❤️🤗😘🤩💥😍🌈🌷
Wow the coyote looks intimidating and slightly lost too 😂 I hope they read the signs better! ❤️
I know he truly is and he knows his way well here unfortunately. gonna put in Hindi 🤣🤣
I’m glad you said Earth Day is a daily thing because the environment is something we need to work on daily.
Cayotes scare me although they are kind of cute lol! Maybe they just need some glasses to read the signs 😜
It’s sooooo true Pooja!
I know right?
Oh that’s it!!!!!
Glasses.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Paid in full
🤣🌷 a penny for your thoughts.. 🙏 won’t get ya rich tho. 🤣
Well, I suppose that is one way to deter the coyotes. Hope it works! I would have probably build a very large enclosure for the chickens but I can tell you, I wouldn’t be missing the guinea fowl. They are so loud and obnoxious! 🙂
We shall see what happens. Thanks so much Lisa and I do as well. I appreciate your visit!!!
Some say they are building closures but they still get in. Oh you’re soooo right about the guinea fowl. Happy Thursday! 💖
Thanks Cindy! I’m sure they do still get in. Nature finds a way. I remember visiting my grandparents farm and a shotgun sat right by the door. Back in those times, your livestock was your livelihood and keeping the predators away was life or death. 🙂
Gosh, you’re so right. Those are some memories and yes, that’ so true. They really are a nuisance and still threatening many peoples livestock as I’ve been finding more and more. 💖
They have to eat too. The circle of life is often cruel. 🙂
sooooo true!❣️
🙂
🤗
Hi cindy,
I am a bit late catching up… another Friday is just around the corner.
OMG, you finally got a picture of the villain!! I hope your solution worked and he has gone looking for other sources of food.
It looks like you live in a beautiful property – full of green and natural beauty!
Wishing you a blessed weekend! ♥♥
Hi Ana Star,
I know they come fast right!
We sure did get the culprit’s pic.. unfortunately, he is still coming and it seems to be the never ending saga. My friend 3 blocks over said 3 come to her place (got 15 of her chickens) and she has a small dog. Apparently was an attack on a child in a stroller with the mom and the town said “you have to learn to coexist with them”. I’m hoping they stop coming here eventually. It truly is a beautiful spot.
Thanks so much and you do the same! 💖💖🌷🌷🌷🙏
Thanks for the update here Cindy, great signs btw 😀 I hope you enjoyed planting your garden 🏵🌹🌸❤
thanks for all the catch up, i know that’s tough. planted almost all, thanks a lot!! 💖💖
Yay….looking forward to the blooms and photos 😍
I’ll have to send for sure!!! thanks!🌷🌷🌷🌷
Wow that is a pretty nice visual from your front window my friend. You know we had a coyote for a short time in our back yard and I was glad when he disappeared because of our smaller dog. What is so sad is that everywhere is getting so overbuilt and to be honest soon our animal friends will have no place to go. We had seventeen deer in our yard a couple of weeks ago. We typically see a dozen but this was the largest we have ever had. I am already hoping there will not be any wild fires this year. That is the most beautiful palm tree I think I have ever seen Cindy, just gorgeous my friend who is not so far away. Hope you are feeling better, you have been on my mind. Sending love to you kind and compassionate Cindy. Hugs, Joni xoxoxo
