Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

LOWER LAKE, CALIFORNIA JULY 4TH 2021

Memories of years gone by on the 4th of July
Raising our flag, shooting off fireworks
Decorating red white and blue

Picnics, games and parades, honoring our democracy
And Birthday of the United States of America|
Our founding fore founders gathered in honor and lifted us up

Standing for justice and peace
Rather than wanting a piece of us
What happened to our moral compass?

Why did we start to decay?
It still exists but is buried deep by tantalizing money and greed
Together we stand for one and for all, even with all of the strife

Eyes wide open we will unite and speak for what’s right
No fire crackers here while we honor our earth but rather light up the sky.
Let’s put our difference aside today and honor the constitution

As we raise the flag

For one and for all.
Happy Birthday America
We have faith in you

Make us proud
As we blow out the candles and
bring in the light

We are waiving the flag
In all of your glory and mistakes
Let freedom reign once again

Austin Park, Clearlake 6/3/21

Thanks always for your kind visit which is the highlight of my day. Be safe, be kind and have a Happy 4th!

Blessings of Love,

💖

Cindy

Such a befitting poem for reminding everyone that they still live in an independent nation and must uphold the values and principles laid forth by the founding fore fathers 💗👌

That is a lovely and poignant poem Cindy. “Why did we start to decay?” Or “why do we decay?” is an eternal question.

Oh. I think we know, but it’s politally incorrect, and even dangerous to point out any one of the manifold issues.

Cindy, these middle three stanzas say it well.

“Standing for justice and peace
Rather than wanting a piece of us
What happened to our moral compass?

Why did we start to decay?
It still exists but is buried deep by tantalizing money and greed
Together we stand for one and for all, even with all of the strife

Eyes wide open we will unite and speak for what’s right
No fire crackers here while we honor our earth but rather light up the sky.
Let’s put our difference aside today and honor the constitution”

Why is a good question we do not ask enough. Here are two I want to ask and demand an answer to each.
1) Why do politicians believe they do not have to tell us the truth anymore? I am tired of them not being held accountable and acting without shame. I expect he-who-shall-not-be-named to be deceitful as that is his modus operandi – it frustrates when others aid and abet the deceit.
2) Why did the Supreme Court rule with its Citizens United and McCutcheon decisions that dark money can fund any election around the country without telling us where their money comes from? Any election anywhere is fair game to be funded by dark money to maintain a majority who is controllable by those monied interest.

The answer to our problems is donors fund politicians to tell them what to think and do. Nothing gets done because they are told not to do anything unless it benefits the funders. And, this part of the problem will not go away until we get money out of the process; but that is not going anywhere unless we start demanding it. Keith

I’m glad that you were able to celebrate your country’s national holiday and this poem seems like a nice tribute to it. Admittedly, I don’t know much about the U.S., but this poem really brought it to life for me.
