Good things seem to come in 3’s . Actually so do the sad or bad ones but it’s Fun Fri-Yay and so we’re going to focus on the good stuff.
It’s the Trifecta! At least we’re 2 for 3 right now.
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary the Definition of “trifecta”
1: TRIPLE sense 1bachieved a show-business trifecta: a platinum record, hit TV series, and an Oscar2: a variation of the perfecta in which a bettor wins by selecting the first three finishers of a race in the correct order of finish
In the maxillian dictionary it says Trifecta is a late 20th century term originating from horse racing. The noun triple is a common lexical variant. The word trifecta is formed from a blend of the morpheme tri- (‘three’) and the noun perfecta. Perfecta is based on the Latin American phrase quiniela perfecta, used to describe a bet in which first and second place winners are picked in the right order. The term superfecta (a blend of super and perfecta) refers to a bet in which the first four winners are picked in the correct order. Superfecta still seems to be largely confined to horse racing and other gambling contexts.
All I know is there’s lots of laughter and fun going on shouting “It’s the trifecta”!
As you know my middle daughter got engaged 2 weeks ago last Sunday and we couldn’t be happier for her and her fiance. I really appreciate all of your wonderful kind heartfelt messages, thank you and so do they!
They’ve been checking out wedding sites because they are already booking up for next year and with their travel schedule they don’t have that much time to look. The friendly skies seem to be their home away from home these days and they are currently living in and out of suitcases after giving up their apartment in S.F. and when they are home they divide their time at our house and his parents houses.
They have been looking at houses for 2 years but my daughter doesn’t make rash decisions as you can see by dating her fiance 13 years before getting engaged. They saw a house in our neighborhood and they wanted us to check it out to see what we thought. OMG what I thought was “YES I think it’s great” even if I hadn’t seen it yet. I mean to be neighbors with our daughter and son in law? Hello, it would be beyond my wildest dream.
But in all honesty when my son and I drove by and looked at it we said “don’t even think about it” since it looked like they would be walking down a huge flight of stairs to get to the house. She was surprised because she said they were thinking of putting an offer on it. So my husband and I went back over and it turns out you can drive down to it which was awesome and we put our stamp of approval on it but no money I can assure you. I’m not sure what you know about the bay area but right now there are bidding wars going on and everything is going for way over asking and it’s gotten to be crazy ridiculous and the chances of them even getting it were remote.
Excited yet nervous with buyers jitters, they made and offer on it and it turns out there was only one other offer while there are usually multiple offers. It’s a sellers market and they were already stretching and would have to back out if a bidding war started for sure. Kids had just started back to school so I think the buying slowed down and the others were on their last hoorah of their vacation.
They shockingly got the house, removed contingencies and will be closing in 2 weeks but won’t be home because they’ll be traveling for work and pleasure for a month. Details details. hahahah! We can’t wait not only to be neighbors but to drop all of her things we’ve been storing for all of these years.
the future looks bright
lots to unpack when moving
time to settle in
Ok so that’s 2 things what’s the 3rd?
Garrett and Kristal?
Actually none to report yet but we are finally going to start a remodel after 20 years when plans get approved and I will finally get my new tub which I’m over the moon about. There has been a crack in the tub and I’m afraid I’ll fall through. There’s dry rot and termites no doubt with tile falling off and the sheet rock’s never been painted or molding put back from a repair. I’m a firm believer in not wasting money until you can actually have what you want. Soooo many choices, it makes your head spin but this is a good problem. I sat in about 20 tubs so far but like goldilocks, none of them were just right. More looking on the horizon.
time to remodel
a plethora of choices
Happy Fun Fri-Yay to all of you! Hoping your weekend is filed with things that bring you joy and peace. Keep your vision when things seem impossible and keep stretching in all ways. Whatever we manifest in our mind becomes our reality. It doesn’t always show up exactly how you plan but that’s part of the joy of living. Never compare your story to anyone else’s, yours is unfolding like the flowers opening to the sun. Each one perfect in their own unique way! Stay tuned next Friday for my Godson’s first published poetry book. I’m sooooo proud of you Connor Licolli! 💖💖💖👏👏👏👏
