Mr. Sandman comes alive.
Shadows of my hands reflecting
stick figures on the ceiling.
Peter Rabbit runs from Mr. McGregor,
caught red handed eating carrots and lettuce;
Oh, what a feeling!
Little Red Riding hood on her way to Grandma’s house,
bumps into the big bad wolf while picking berries.
He lunges at her with his big sharp teeth.
She grins and pulls out a little mouse.
He runs as fast as he can, never to be seen again.
The 3 little bears and the 3 little pigs decide to be friends,
building houses out of steel and beds of soft down;
Cooking meals and having parties for the entire town.
They invite Peter rabbit and little Red Riding Hood and granny
But still pay a visit to Mr. McGregor and pay him or his yield
The moral of the story is have fun when it rains,
Pay your debt to the farmers or grow your own food.
Always have a mouse on hand if you run into the Big Bad Wolf.
Bears make honey, pigs do get slaughtered so don’t be greedy.
And be kind to your elders and granny; like little Red Riding Hood.
Happy Fri-Yay Funday my friends!
So what do you do when the power goes out for 36 hours? I’ve been slow getting back to all of you because I had to charge my phone in my car and then my gas ran out, since I had to keep it charged. Naaah, it didn’t really but the story sounds better that way and it could have. Hahaha! I honestly love it when this happens because it stops everything and you’re forced to do nothing.
A lot of people I know have generators so they don’t miss a beat but there are only a very few times when life stands still and you’re forced to be device free and chill. I draw the line though after 2 days since after that, all of your food can spoil and that’s just NOT fun. Playing crazy 8’s with my husband and son was fun, reading and listening to my son’s conspiracy theories of lights out and the town being taken over… It’s almost funny but these days it’s just down right maddening and scary! But the best of all was going to bed with a candle and casting these puppets on the ceiling, writing long had and this little diddly.
And now one of my favorite songs………. and the visuals are so good! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Turn up the music and dance and sing! Timothy please play the guitar and Clive you must have a story. ❣️❣️❣️
Have a great Friday and weekend whatever you do and remember life is met to be enjoyed so mix things up a bit and have fun.
Can you tell what I wrote below?

I DO… I REALLY DO❣️❣️❣️ LOVE YOURSELF AND ALL THOSE YOU LOVE❣️
Thanks truly for stopping in and playing with me. Also, if you are on FB and would be so kind to go in and like The Unique Times Page I would be truly grateful. This is all new to me but like you I am learning as I go. When I figure out how, why and if it helps, I’ll share it with you so you might benefit too.
Thanks Tons!
🙏🙏🙏

You have a lot of fun, Cindy!!
Thank you.
Joanna
hahahah laughing Joanna! I do make the most of days when they could be otherwise and do my darnedest! 🤣💖
I always enjoy your bright presence here. Thanks my friend❣️
Someone’s extra perked up because of the rain 😉
Oh, what a beauuuutiful poem! 😻 Little Red Riding hood, Peter Rabbit- so creatively woven. Too much cuteness!
I see a lot of bloggers celebrating the rain in California now. Must have been a horrible drought! 🙁
You got that right might dear Sam and so glad you got the metaphor of my poem. I felt 5 again so that was fun for sure.
Yes, now pray for more, it sure has been a horrible drought at that!💖
Oh, my heartfelt prayers 🙏 There have been times when we’ve had to resort to artificial precipitation here to bring rain. Where is this world even heading? 🤷♀️🙁
Lovely post, Cindy. And I love the song! It takes me back to the wild and crazy eighties! 😍😍😍 I’m so sorry you’re having so many blackouts but it’s great that you found ways to enjoy yourselves during the outage. Bless you, sweetie! 😊🤗💖🙏
Oh thank you so much Dear Cherie. I know such a great song right! Oh it was short actually and hopefully it will keep on raining!!! xo 💖💖❣️❣️🌷
I pray that you’ll get plenty more rain. And I just thought of one of the first songs I remembered from when I was three. “It Never Rains in California.” I remember my Dad playing his guitar every evening after dinner and me singing along with him every evening after dinner. “It never Rains…” was one of the songs we sang. It was how we spent our family time. 👪 💖💐🌹
Simply superb.💐😊
Thanks so much!🙏
Song and rain perfect 💖 and Cindy’ s post a bonus 🌸
Awesome, fun poem…a perfect example of making lemons into lemonade! <3 Cindy, I hope you do not have any more power outages, fires, droughts, or any other tortures! Have a lovely day!
THANKS so much Cheryl. I’m truly glad you liked it. Well, we put out some fires so that was awesome!!! I know you are always looking out for us here. We each have our issues and then there’s the world.. yikes. I will and you do the same my friend 💖💖
Happy Friyay Cindy. You mentioned two of my favorites in this post. Love crazy 8’s and I have a deep love for Irene Cara’s “What a feeling”. It sounds as if you really made the best out of the blackout situation. Good for you! Much love , my friend.💕❤️💕
Happy Fri-Yay to you too Grace! Wait I thought you were gonna say the 3 bears and the 3 lil pigs.. hahaha. Yes, I hadn’t played in years and it was so much fun and that song is a fav of mine too. Thanks that is what we do is make the best of life. thanks for the love and right back to you my friend💖💖❣️❣️
I always played that song but only recently truly listen to the lyrics. It’s great. Truly a pleasure, my friend .💕❤️💕
It really is a gem and I did love the visuals here too!💖 I appreciate is so much, thanks ❣️
💕❤️💕
💖💖🌷
Sorry, I was never a fan of disco. My then wife dragged me along to watch the movie but it was no Saturday Night Fever, was it? I recall this being a big hit here, one of those songs that seemed to follow you around. My best memory is the office Christmas party that year: one of the young guys was really keen on the boss’s PA and tried to impress her with his dancing skills. Sadly, he had filled up on too much Dutch courage and after spinning around a lot he passed out. He never did get the girl, either.
Have lots of fun Cindy
Ahhhhh. I love the story, and am glad to know you are all getting some rain. Wow! That’s a long time without power….LOVE the handpuppets, and the message – we LOVE you too! Have a beautiful weekend, dear Cindy! 💖✨💐🙏💖
I love this poem Cindy. 😍😍😍 I could see how positive you are to handle negative things. I am sure you struggled without power and am hoping all is settling down slowly. Take care dear Cindy. Love and prayers ❤️🤗
Wonderful poem with all the fairy tale characters straightened out. We’ve been without power for long periods. It makes you feel like a Neanderthal. I’m a sucker for dance movies. I always liked the flush scene in Flash Dance. I miss the dancing daze. Your shadow puppeting photos are really fun. They have a real artistic sense about them with your excellent Off Center & Not Even compositions.
Cindy, we went from Crazy 8’s to a very evocative video of Irene Cara’s wonderful song. There is some TV commercial on right now, where an elderly man replicates that Flashdance picture with laundry falling on him. It is not quite the same as Jennifer Beals (and her dancer stand in) in the movie. FYI – the final dance number of the movie is done by three people, two women and one man. But, I digress.
Setting that aside, Peter escaped Mr. MacGregor, but he was in the wrong in stealing his vegetables. So, I am glad the bears and pigs and rabbits well pay a fee to the MacGregors for their products. My kids loved the Beatrix Potter books and we had this DVD (actually it was a VHS) video of three of her stories. Maybe we can get the bears, pigs and rabbits to sing “What a feeling.”
Glad your power is back on. Keith
Funnily enough, the power went out on our street last night but only for an hour: boring! I was ready to have fun getting back to basics 🕯 I love the shadow writing ❤️❤️❤️
Glad you made the most of it! I have not thought of Flashdance in ages.
Hi Cindy,
You just reminded me that I don’t own a flashlight. I have candles, but they make me scared of burning the building down.
I love your energy and creativity! Nothing can keep you down!
Wishing you a blessed weekend! May it be full of light! ♥♥
Oh my Ana Star, I know and sometimes I forget to blow them out which is really scary.
I have to tell you, I am so laughing and maybe I should be or you can yell at me cuz I’m thinking of you landing on the first floor naked again.. lol.
So glad you liked this.. it was a stretch to post but what was happening “NOW”. Thanks my dear friend. I so appreciate it. 💖 happy weekending to you as well! 💖
Loved it 💙💙 and your positivity always inspire us 🤗🤗
Take care !
Thank you so much Era! I really appreciate it💖💖💖 Happy weekend my friend💖

36 hours? For real? Well girl, it sounds like you were pretty imaginative at games you can play in the dark while keeping it fun! I mean really, what else could you do? Well, maybe you shouldn’t answer that question. We want to keep it Rated PG! 😱😂😜
Love your approach in handling such a dark situation! LMBO! 😆🤣😂 And oh the stories you created. You sure know how to turn a blackout into a FUNyay Friday! 😁😁😁 I hope you won’t have to experience such a night like you did for a while, unless you decide to turn the lights out yourself!!! 🕯💡🪔 Have a FANtabulous weekend Cindy! 🎇✨🎉
Hey, it was only 3 hours less than my first labor with my daughter and much more fun. Not that she wasn’t worth every moan and groan.. I’m just sayin and this actually surprised me when it came out of the blue.. I’m sure my husband was hoping for a R rating however.. 🤣🤣
Thanks so much my Fun Fri-=Yay G.F. and you have a great on eas well!! 💖
Girl, you are a barrel full of good, clean fun, but then again, a little dirty dancing is all right with me! 😂💃🏼😱 Make this a great weekend girlfriend. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you to do something FUN because you are already ahead of the game!!! 🤸🏼♂️🤗✨🐱🏍😎
You make me sooo laugh. 😱😭💃🕺🏼My husband of course is agreeing with you! hahaha.i will and you do the same for sure!!! I’m on it!🤟🤟🤟😎

spam sucks 😂but that’s so kind of you that you are replying to my old comments ❤️🤗
I know right! Absolutely… wanted you to know.. 💖
Cindy!!! It’s SO GOOD TO SEE YOU MY FRIEND! Of course I do finger puppet shows in the dark with a flashlight. 36 hours is a long time! I just love your enthusiasm and talents. About the poem….wow, wow, wow. I’m so glad it’s published here–now what about a book? I saw the word you spelled—and I LOVE YOU TOO! We all do! Take care dear friend. Happy Halloween!
K.L. HI!!!! It’s sooooo good to see you too! I’ve been wondering how you have been doing. Thanks for stopping in. I am sooooo laughing right now.. Well, I didn’t do them for 36 hrs.. you’re so funny.. i’m so laughing right now. That is soooo kind of you to say that you like my talent and enthusiasm. I’m so glad I did publish it here as I almost didn’t. Oooh a book? Ideas? what would be book worthy? Would truly love any of your thoughts on this. I’m glad you could read it.. ❣️❣️❣️👏 Awww thanks soooo much for the love back and you take excellent care too.. I’ll be hoping over soon.. Can you have a cup of tea ready please.. xo 💖💖
Sip sip hooray! Tea is on! And coffee too! Your stories, and any poem, are book worthy! Just title it like your blog, “Uniquely Fit!” Filled with humor, inspiration, personal anecdotes, …I’ve been doing well. Since launching my first kid’s book, it has been a deep learning curve. Marketing, software, planning visits and juggling keeping to write and maintain this site for friends like YOU! I’m addition, as you know, family obligations and house stuff. I volunteer once a week with disabled adults. I do relish my quiet time and in nature. So I hang on to healthy! Back to the uniquely fit~what is awesome about your title is the “fit” can refer to not just fitness, but fitting in with society. To the world we may not “fit”, yet we uniquely offer our gifts and talents and really have no idea who we might be encouraging! Don’t ever “fit” in, Cindy. As you know, it’s not worth it! Be uniquely YOU as you DO. Much love and hugs!! 💛❤️🤗🧡🍁🍁🍁🎃🎃🎃
Happy Friday to you as well.
Thanks so much!!!💖💖💖💖

The power goes out at my house two or three times a year. I really hate it in part because the houses behind me are on a different circuit and their power never goes out. I’m sitting in the dark while the neighbors are having a good old time. That is a great song and video. Have a great weekend Cindy! John
Oh noooo John. How do we really know the neighbors are having a good old time? Ya know, half the time, people just pretend to. Soooo I’m soooo happy you liked the song and the video. What about the puppet show? I have just given you a sure what to have a good old time when it happens next tine. hahahah 🤣🤣 Sign language me next time. Thanks a lot John, I will and you do the same!💖💖
It’s really a hahaha ma’am….tank you

A beautiful poem, Cindy! I really appreciate how you enjoyed the power outage. That shows your positivity and funny side. Crazy 8 was one of the games I used to play during my childhood. Happy Friyay! Have a great weekend 🎉😊💐💖
Awwww! That was very sweet <3
awwww thank you Lolsy.. in spam again.. sorry 💖🙏
That’s alright, it happens, lol
Thanks it soooo does!! 💖💖💖🤣
Wow can’t believe that lights went out for 36 hours and I thought it is in India but it is everywhere. Awesome video what a feeling brought back memories. Your poem was fantastic and the post too was lovely. Nice to be positive and having a cool mind, Cindy.
When the world dims, the heart is illuminated. When the light flickers, the heart gets to shine… brighter. When a candle is lite, the moment becomes enlightened. We can rest assured, the darkness can never eclipse, hope… for a brighter tomorrow! Blessings to you!
So beautifully said Warren. That is so gorgeous. This is so true and appreciated 🙏❤️
Power outage & rain in your part of the world, woohoo! How fun you made it! Thanks for sharing your love & joy, my friend! Enjoy your weekend! 🌞
It was about time we got some good rain. Looks like more to come …Yay. I did have fun and thanks my friend!💖
That’s kinda like Shabbat when we don’t use electrical devices…
😀
David
It’s a wonderful Sunday tradition David!💖
‘cept we do it on Saturdays 😉
oh that’s right.. 💖
Ah, yes…Crazy 8’s is great, as is your imagination without lights. ❤️ the shadows cast on the ceiling, my friend, and wish you a well-lit conclusion to the weekend, Cindy. 🤗🌹
It is so fun Phil. Hadn’t played for years. Loved it. awww thanks, i truly enjoyed it I concur with you for a well lite weekend and you to my friend💖💖
TY dear Cindy 💖💖
💖❤️😇
So easy for us to take everything for granted; and then BOOM. There is something hauntingly comforting in just the glow of the fire, flickering candlelight, the silence and darkness. Trust all okay now?
It’s so true it’s the moments that give life meaning. All is good now for sure-;)
Thanks for asking-;)💕

Looks like you had a fun day in spite of the power outage. Maybe you will end up writing children’s books 😂
Hi Marlene, You know I do my best to make the best of situations that might otherwise go south. Ya know…. I thought of that too. The metaphors are simple and a good message to pass on to children. Thanks for stopping in.💖💖
Hi Cindy
The shadow play is just fun – classic and timeless too!
I imagine folks doing that with candles centuries ago!
And laughing so much at your wit- (always so good)
—
The moral of the story is have fun when it rains,
Pay your debt to the farmers or grow your own food.
Always have a mouse on hand if you run into the Big Bad Wolf.
Bears make honey, pigs do get slaughtered so don’t be greedy.
And be kind to your elders and granny; like little Red Riding Hood.”
Oh I KNOW. It was an accident and I remembered when to when I started it. It was truly fun but if I woke my husband up to play he would have thought so. .hahahah.
Oh glad you liked the metaphors there and always appreciate your kind hearted comments!💖🎃

Did you mow the new Ford F-150 that are all electric can also serve as a generator for a house?
Crazy cool
And we have a small generator (never knew we had it all those years ) and I guess it can power up half the house if needed – but I agree with you – power outs are a chance to slow down and we make do!
Scary about the conspiracy theory cause crazy crap does sometimes happen
Wow I did NOT know that!! that is sooo cool to know.. LOCVE it!
I always welcome a chance to shake things up a bit! 💖💖🎃🎃 thanks a lot for visiting❣️

Many morals packed into your creative poem, Cindy. Wonderful job keeping a bright attitude while in the dark. 🔦 Of course I love your music clip! 💃🏼💖 Enjoy your week!
Thanks so much Michelle! Really happy to hear you liked the messages and am honored you liked the creative approach. That’s what I love about our work. It spurs us on to new heights! Nicely said. “A bright attitude in the dark”. I feel like more and more that’s what we have to do-:)
Thanks you truly!
I knew you would like the music clip-:)💕😘
Absolutely, yes! Creativity creates more creativity.✨ Sharing some light and a sexy dance scene are also excellent choices. 💃🏼💖😘 Have a wonderful week!
💃It’s soooo true Michele. absolutely true and love your love of dance and full expression as well. I will and you do the same Dear Michele! 💖
Thank you, Cindy. 💐
🌷❤️🙏 of course!

I have always found poetry hard to understand, too high brow to get unless one were a literary scholar (except the famous one that starts ‘There once was a man from Nantucket…’, I understand that one pretty well:).
But here, I don’t quite get the nursery story connections with some of the characters; why is the big bad wolf afraid of a mouse, I thought bees made honey, bears stole it… I know it is just my ignorance of the subject, but still. As to the moral of the story, I think that is spot on.
One thing I do know well, and I learned it quickly, after only reading here for a short time, it’s your vibrant light that illumines the darkness.
Thank you for all you do.
me either Mike which is why mine is generally so basic and fundamental so maybe I am reaching new heights in my poetry…lol 🤣
I love your approach with your understanding… like mine.
the big bad wolf and mouse just came to me as my poetry does and I liked the analogy of big scary beasts afraid of something scared of something so small. I could have had her pull out a mirror and had him scared of his shadow which might Have been better with more metaphors actually.
I got the Bears from the stock market as in a bear market makes money but yes in honey you are soooo right they steal in and that’s kind of like making money..or a reach. 🤣
I APPRECIATE your time.
Oh that is very kind of you to say, thank you very much and you’re welcome.
Thank you so much!🌷🙏
Ah yes, thank you for that explanation, it makes much better sense.
I think it takes a practiced artistic understanding of language to see the meaning of some poetry. I tend to read it too literally.
Much like visual arts: Kandinsky has beautiful use of color and shape, but what does it mean? Is there even supposed to be a meaning?
Picasso too, I know there is a face somehere in there because I can discern an eyeball, but what am I supposed to understand?
With time and practice it will get easier, I am glad to have found your site to help me in my learning.
Oh great Mike and thanks for your candid response I so appreciate.
You are sooo right and it really is in the eye of the beholder but I always try to understand what the artist is saying and sometimes I really don’t get it! 🤣
Yes we all learn by practice and I appreciate you being here.
thanks a lot!💖🙏

What a sweet poem Cindy. How lovely especially with all the little twists. It can be fun to be with out electricity for a short while but like you mentioned when you start having to throw out expensive produce and other food it isin’t fun. Once we went without electricity for two days and a neighbor’s insurance paid for all her groceries. I would have never even thought to have asked. Looked like you all had a nice evening. Sending lots of love and hugs sweetie. xoxoxoxo Joni
Thanks my dearest Joni! I just love when potentially annoying moments bring an element you have a choice to surrender to or bitch and moan. So much more fun when you make the most of it and this was like a dejavu and I loved it! it’s like guests after 2-3 days they smell like fish… Well, she scored on that. I’m surprised, I wouldn’t have thought of it either. Catching your love and sending it right back at cha! 💖❣️ Thanks soooo much for stopping in💖🙏
You are too funny. I am so glad that I found your comments they always make me smile. All you post make me smile, you are truly an inspiration dear Cindy. I am glad that you found fun things to do while the electricity was out. I love you sweetie. Hugs, too Joni
Glad you think so as I’m smiling which I so much appreciate. Thank you .. It must be contagious with us.. Awwww thanks so much. I’m glad too as it gives life some fun twists and turns. Love you too dear Joni!💖💖💖 🤗🤗🤗
Sending love and hugs back double time. 🤗❤️🌹💕🥰🦋
got them, thanks xoxoxoxo 💖💖🌷🌷🤗🤗
I know you had a lot of fun writing this one! Sometimes a total paradigm shift is good for us. I enjoyed your interesting post!
dwight
I’m so glad you could feel that Dwight because it is so true. I take inspiration as it comes and it always surprises me which is the gift. Thanks so much!💖🙏
You are welcome!
Thank Dear!💖
Look at you always making the best of the situation!!
awww thanks.. what else are we gonna do right?!! Just like you do!💖❣️
