Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Happy Fun Fri-Yay my friends!

I am truly so honored and most humbled to be one of 13 finalists in Gabriela Maria Milton’s poetry contest with such incredible writers and authors. If you haven’t seen the list of finalists, I’ve listed them below or you can go directly to Gabriella’s site here and read it straight from the poetess herself.

It was truly one of those pinch me pink moments when I saw my name below and I burst into a hallelujah, waking up the entire household. Sorry guys.

And then this poem burst out of me:

My heart bursts into mini explosions
like fireworks that can’t be contained.
Casting colors of light opening
Into sunbeams of brilliance.
When dark days come,
I close my eyes and see the light
and remember this feeling
serendipitous ….
Of miracles that show up,
when I least expect them.
The sun moves behind the cloud.
As it drizzles, I’m saturated
soaking it in like a sponge.
Knowing when the sun comes out again,
rainbows are prisms
to my heart and yours.

Gabriela is an extraordinarily gifted international published poet. She is # 1 Amazon Best-Selling Author, was Author of the Year 2019 through Spillwords Press NYC, and MasticadoresUSA Editor. She has an incredible kind heart and is so supportive of all of us in our Word Press community and we are all so grateful for her support.

She is a constant cheerleader and encourages us each to shine in our writing in our own authentic way. One time I said to her “I just want to write like you” and she said “No Cindy, your writing is beautiful, write like you, there is only one of you”. She is as wise as she is kind and brilliant. It reminded me of something I would say to a client I was working with.

Her writing pushes me to new heights and when I want to submit something to MasticadoresUsa for publication, I often awake from a dream with a poem that just comes to me and I just know, “this one belongs to Gabriella”. I highly recommend her book that I read fast and then went back and savored each poem like my friend Joni another finalist suggested. Her words penetrate deeply, are thought provoking and leave you yearning for more. Click the above amazon link to purchase it and enjoy it for yourself.

Congratulations to the 13 finalists of the poetry contest Woman: Splendor and Sorrow: | Love Poems and Poetic Prose

In Gabriella’s own words:

“Thank you to everyone who enter the contest. It was no easy task for the reviewers to come up with 13 finalists. Yet, they did. The next stage in the process is for the reviewers to select the winners. I will feature all poems on my blog after the winners are announced and their work is featured.”

On another note, I just want to let you know that I’m going to do one more post on Monday and then take a break if I can do it until November 15th. I will try to handcuff my hands behind my back but as Ingrid, my partner in Bloggers Anonymous knows and many of you other WP addicts know, it might not be possible. If the writing bug catches fire, I might not be able to help myself.

We just arrived in Santa Barbara and met our daughter from NYC (YAYYY) and her B.F, are celebrating my husband’s birthday, one of her friends best friend’s (and our 2nd daughter), is getting married tomorrow and then we’re heading to the Desert to chillax.

Trex Luna In Santa Barbara, CA ( I highly recommend it)

Thank you truly for stopping in and have a great Fri-Yay and weekend and I’ll see you Monday!

Stay Blessed,

💖

Cindy
