give life meaning and insight.

on all platforms of social media
turning us into human doings
not beings
while transforming us
into influencers of desire
But what and who are we influencing?
We’re a click away from 1 more friend
but what if we’re bullied and chastised
because we don’t like what you do
or measure up to standards set by norms?
And what if the very thing we thought we wanted
exploded into an atomic bomb?
What if friends were valued for their love and authenticity
not their net worth
and had your back and you had theirs?
What if we were one of a kind
and were true friends,
measured in real time,
not screen time?
What if people really cared
about each others welfare,
not the all mighty dollar
and getting ahead?
What if we told the truth
and appreciated our sameness
and differences?
What then?
Ron’s Gone Wrong, Got it right!
And if I miss a click, don’t have a B-Bot,
take a break and disappear for awhile
will you discard me,
send me to the crusher
and move on to other friends?

Hi My Friends,
I’m back from vacation and it was awesome but after 10 days and 6 different hotel rooms it’s good to be back and now I need a vacation from the vacation.
We took my nephew and his roommate to see this movie because it was a welcome change from the otherwise violent shows they beg to see and LOVED it. The reviews average about a 4.6 and most people really liked it. There were a couple of people that said that they thought it was too violent and I suppose for very young children it might be but the message was uplifting and one of hope. We all truly enjoyed the message and cartoon imagery and I don’t usually like automated movies. Perhaps it tickled my fancy so much since so many of us spend so much time on the screen these days. I had quite a few laugh out loud moments.
Writing this also reminded me of some of my friends personally and my W.P. friends that I don’t see anymore and we were really good friends. It makes me sad sometimes and I miss them. I even thought about some I forgot about while writing this but they’re still in my heart. Do you find the same thing or is it just me?
Like the saying goes sometimes people come into our life to stay for awhile and leave quickly, while others, mark footsteps on our heart and we are never the same. And with a namaste and a click of the keyboard….. I’m off. Make it a great day and……….

What a wonderful poem, Cindy. This might be my favorite – so far! LOL I found my old book of poems that I wrote years ago before the internet. I was looking for one that went with my Wed. Quotes post about fog, but my notebook of poems was lost in a box of many boxes. They are not great poems, but I feel like I found a part of me that was lost.

Great Question David. I suppose it depends on the child. Your daughter like you say is 6 going on 16 so I think you would gain lots of things to talk about and explore. Maybe have her watch the trailer but it’s the world they are living with and learning how to navigate it is vital.

I love the poem. I’m very unsocial when it comes to social media. I have WP and a YouTube channel and that’s it. People do simply disappear from WP and it makes you wonder. Some pop back up after a few years and some delete their blog and you don’t know what has happened to them. I won’t be seeing that movie as I don’t seem to get around to watching movies these days, but I’m happy to hear it’s uplifting.

It is wildly weird and I get attached to them which is a great lesson in un-attachment for sure. The trailer will give you the main idea. I don’t see many either.. wish there was a bit more time for that too.. Always nice to have an uplifting movie for a change! 💖
Twitter seems like the perfect platform for ADHD, but it is has been one I have the least interest in. When we do watch movies they are usually French or other foreign films. I love cartoons, but I have not been into most of the animated movies. How to train your Dragon and TinTin are exceptions. I hated the Puss in Boots with Antonio Banderas doing the voice. I generally like Banderas, but that movie rubbed me the wrong way.
lol… I agree. No notifications on. How can we work and do anything else with so many distractions but G is queen in poetry so I shall give it a whirl Oh that’s very cool. I’m not usually a fan. I don’t like those either!
Movies in general i don’t go out to but my annual visit to see my nephew is an exception. 💖💖

We sure did and the areas we traveled in were top 10 to below the belt and with different occasions it was stressful cuz you had to leave things in the car.. Always took my lap top with me tho. I’m doing just that and settling back in to my routine. That is really sweet of you John. Ya know. I remember I reached out to you and you put me at 1,000 right before Xmas last year so I could take a break and I will always remember that, so thank you! 💖 So that means our anniversary is coming up.. hahhahah. Real time not screen time is a pertinent close to the stanza. You can’t do a hug online. You can’t wipe away a tear online. It is hard to read body language online. Be there. Keith

I find the same thing, Cindy. And with each person that eventually disappears, a piece of my heart goes as well. But sometimes I notice people change and there’s a time and place for every person who touches our lives. I know what you mean by some friends being transient. I’ve recently gone through my contacts book and asked people if they were still interested in me as a person and guess what? Only a handful bothered to get back to me! So, now I move forward, lighter and freer, knowing who my real friends are! I’ll keep a look out for the film – sounds good!
I love that.. it’s so smart to do housecleaning like that and move on. Usually it really isn’t our issue but even if so, we do our best to clear things up and moving on is good for the soul .. so smart of you. Even the trailer is fun.. 💖
