What’s KRTY you’re probably thinking. Trust me so was I. Well, it just so happens that my daughter Narnical, the pretty blonde…. oh yeah they are all pretty blondes (hahahaha), entered a contest to try and win Garth Brooks tickets for a concert that KRTY radio station was sponsoring. You had to sign up and be listening to the radio station so that in the off chance they called you, and could name the song they were playing at the time to win tickets.

KRTY is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Los Gatos, California, and serving the San Jose and Santa Clara Valley area. It is owned by Empire Broadcasting and it broadcasts a country music radio.

Easy pizzy right? But if you work full time as a school teacher, live in person these days, there’s a good chance you could be working and you can’t say “hold on a minute kids while I answer my phone”.

But who is Garth Brooks some of you are asking:

County music legend Garth Brooks will play in San Jose on Dec. 16, but instead of SAP Center, he’ll be playing the relatively tiny Club Rodeo. And you’ll have to be lucky to snag a pair of the 700 tickets, which can only be won through KRTY-FM radio contests.

Brooks called into KRTY’s morning show, hosted by Gary Scott Thomas and Julie Stevens, on Monday to make the announcement. He said KRTY General Manager Nate Deaton had called him to find out if he would bring one of his “Dive Bar Tour” shows — in which he’s been playing smaller venues — to Silicon Valley.

“I love getting to play at stadiums and arenas,” Brooks told Thomas and Stevens, “but there’s nothing like the dive bars. They’re the most fun.”

The trick for fans will be getting tickets to the 8 p.m. show in San Jose, where Brooks last performed in 2015. Like his other “Dive Bar” stops, tickets won’t be sold but will be given out through contests starting this Friday on KR

It just so happened that she was home at her computer when she saw the call come in from them and was scrambling because she didn’t have the radio on so she answered at the last possible second so she could stall. Her heart was beating so fast and she was so excited and nervous she could hardly speak. Not to mention she wasn’t listening to the station that minute. OH NO!!! What’s a girl to do. Didn’t I just say Google it in my post yesterday 🤣. Well, the pause was her getting on their website to find out what was just played.

The question is… Can she pull it off or not?

And here’s how I remember him in the day. Funny thing is if you read my post on Monday you will see I posted at Fabletics and here is an add that opens his songs. I never plan these things but they sure do line up how they are supposed to appear.
