Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

My son surfing The Mentawai islands: A chain of islands in Indonesia off the western coast of Sumatra

I’m thrilled to share my second poem, Ride The Waves, that was just published on Spillwords Press thanks to Dagmara K. Director of Development | Editing Department and the entire team.

When you’ve lost your compass
and are swallowed at sea,
go deeper.
Anchor into the dark night,
where tall ships sail and thrash.

Familiarity breeds
contempt, yet comfort.
Let the light
illuminate your path,
through this dark night,
as you travel into the unknown.

Waves of confusion and self-doubt
create circles of despair.
Wires cross
in the blustery night,
fires ignite
and need repair.

Heartbroken and weary we crash,
grab the rudder,
squeeze harder,
as rough waters
threaten to take us under,
trembling in fear.

Lost at sea,
we tumble encapsulated,
lost in a quandary.
Teeth chatter,
blood gone frozen,
weak in the knees,
barely a breath left……..

I would be honored and most grateful if you would go here to read the rest of my poem. If time permits, I would appreciate if you would give a like there as well, to support their contribution to all of us writers. You can also peruse all of the other published gifted writers as well.

Thank you so much and I wish you the strength and courage you need in facing whatever comes your way today!

In Love & Gratitude,

💖🌻

Cindy

Such a beautiful if yet sorrowful poem at times my friend. Congratulations on your second poem on SpillWords, I am sure there will be more and what fun it is too. I especially liked this stanza:

“Waves of confusion and self-doubt
create circles of despair.
Wires cross
in the blustery night,
fires ignite
and need repair.”

Things are crossed right now more then in a very long time. Our world needs a lot of repair, said so lovely Cindy. I am so happy for you being recognized and getting published several times now and they will just keep coming. I am pretty sure I already liked this on SpillWords but I am going over just in case. Love you sweetie and a big congratulations again!
