Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

I’m grateful to share that my poem, Blue Skies Wet My Eyes, is now available at MasticadoresUSA. Thanks to Gabriela Marie Milton, and the team at MasticadoresUSA for their continued support, and for publishing this piece.

Blue skies wet my eyes
I can see clearly now

Clouds are few
but billowing
as I rest
a halo over my head

The sun shines through me
brightly
I drift in and out of grace and fear
the sun goes down, stars come up
now

That you’ve returned.
the storms thrashing
lighting the dark sky
I fall to the earth’s crust
where seeds are sewn

The hollow husks
blow in circles,
chickens pecking
at my feet….

I would be honored if would go here and read the rest of my poem.

Congratulations Cindy my dear on another beautiful and heartwarming poem that’s been published at MastecadoresUSA. 👏🏼🌟🤗 Billowing clouds, overhead as you rest your head in its halo of light. 😇 You allow our imagination to run with yours where seeds are sown. Awesome piece Mommy Nature! 🌤☁⛅

Thanks Cindy. Well done. There is an old song, sung well by Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Nelson, called “Blue Skies.” Here is the first stanza written by Brian Wayne Transeau.

“Blue skies smilin’ at me
Nothin’ but blue skies do I see
Bluebirds singin’ a song
Nothin’ but bluebirds all day long
Never saw the sun shinin’ so bright
Never saw things goin’ so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you’re in love, my how they fly”

Super job, Cindy, even used a few song lyrics to add a layer of meaningful depth. 🙂

I think its fine to use parts of pieces as long as you give credit. Authors of books and plays do it all the time. 🙂

Seriously? It screamed at me. I loved the song, though. 🙂

Cindy, the minute I read your poem I was immediately reminded of this song – perhaps my favorite of all the Beatles songs – and that, my dear friend, is high praise indeed. Absolutely stunning! 🌟
