In Keeping with our theme of Wounds I Healed: The Poetry of Strong Woman, for which I’m proud to be a contributing author, this is a tribute to a dear friend/client that recently went through the big D ivorce and if that wasn’t enough, got cancer not long after. WTF right?!
It was aggressive and had spread to other organs. In some of our sessions when she was dealing with something tough, she would say, “At least it isn’t cancer”. Her mother died from cancer at a very young age. Her words “I’m not afraid to die, but I don’t want to leave my kids,” are truly reminiscent of my feelings and tug at my heart.
She recently moved and I called to check in and she was ecstatic and said her markers went from 500 to 45 and feels great and was taking her 3 girls to Paris to visit the Eiffel Tower. This has had me sailing through my week with joy. I immediately popped this poem out and sent it to her and she was soooooo happy and said “OMG ❤️💕💕 My own poem… how damn special is that!!!! Thank you Cindy, grateful!”😘
People ask, “how and why did you start writing poetry” and I never have an answer except ” I don’t know, it just started popping out of me and I trust it”. But now I know this is the reason… if I could bring cheer in one small corner of someone’s world, then I have accomplished my life mission of sharing my heart of what matters most….. LOVE!

Life tests,
You choose
how you show up
to the fateful news.
Cave in or lean in,
you have a say
in making the most
of everyday.
You may feel the swarm
of infestation crawling
under your skin
and voices so loud
that barrel you down,
landing you in a heap
of sorrow and pain
but don’t let it own you.
YOU are bigger
than anything that
tries to define you so
climb the
Eiffel tower
and sing your name
while you stand tall in the light,
brighter than The Sirius Star
because honey 🍯
You are a rock star!

Have a beautiful week ahead!
[…] Don’t let C, D or WTF Define you: Ever!!!!! […]
