Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

I’m so grateful that my poem Lighting a Candle is now available at MasticadoresUSA. Thanks to Gabriela Marie Milton, and the team at MasticadoresUSA for their continued support, and for publishing this piece. And to you my humble and supportive followers, thank you for reading and your ongoing presence of my work.

My feet trace shadows that turn into ash.
Crimson skies
with blustery clouds of smoke
Before my jaded eyes;
Where birds once sang sweet lullabies
to send me off to sleep.

I wait for song to fill dark corners
but even the birds are afraid to chirp and fly.
I can’t wait forever,
so I go inside
and light a candle
in the frightened night
and sing a tune
For dreams to take flight.

The walls crumble
and fire surrounds
leaving me
in a hovel……. I would be so honored if you would go here and read the rest of my poem.

I could use a little of the strength you mention in this poem. Perseverance, endurance, fighting against all odds–it really wears down a person. Wonderful words as always, Cindy! 🙂

Girrrrrlllllllll…now this right here –

I wait for song to fill dark corners
but even birds are afraid to chirp and fly.
I can’t wait forever,
so I go inside
and light a candle
in the frightened night
and sing a tune
For dreams to take flight.

And about those liquid pearls…honey chile…you melted the wax, inserted the wick, and lit the candle that is all Cindaaaaayyyyyy, lighting her world for all to see!!! 🕯🪔🕯 Shine on girlfriend! 🌟🌞⭐
