While the cat’s away (Goff) the mice will play ( Yvette from Priorhouse Blog and Cindy from The Unique Times (mmmmuah).
I got this randomly from Yvette and I always love spontaneous fun, so I thought why not post a free form “Haiku”. As you may or may not notice, we generally follow the traditional rules of 1st line being 5 syllables, the 2nd line, 7 syllables and the 3rd line, 5 syllables but since since the master Haiku partner is on is on a hiatus, I thought heck, why not take poetic license. Besides, this might make him come back faster. We miss you Goff!
What is emojiku?
The emojiku came about by Cindy Georgakas and Goff James playing emoji tennis in the WP comments box. It was a natural step to take it one stage further and develop from being just a fleeting form of discourse into something more poetically constructive.
An emojiku is a hybrid poetic form, and is similar in format to a haiku / senryū or haiga.
In the case of an emojiku the source image is an emoji. The emojiku is made up of three different emoji. Each emoji being the inspiration for one line of the short poem.
The process of creating an emojiku begins by a blogger sending three different emoji to a fellow blogger.
The second blogger responds by writing their emojiku and forwarding it back to the original blogger; who, in turn responds by writing a counterpoint emojiku using the same emoji images.

Please keep your prompt responses family-friendly. Disrespectful and inappropriate comments will not be responded to and removed immediately.
Remember Goff is on vacation so leave your responses in my box if you want to play. I only do this once a month on a Fri-Yay Funday! I’ll keep us free form for awhile.
It’s finally time to announce the winner of the book giveaway that I announced a little while ago!
Thanks to all of you for playing along to win the book. This number one best seller, Wounds I Healed: Poetry of Strong Woman on Amazon is getting rave reviews and written up in publications and I’m honored to be part of it. Congratulations to Daphny for winning the book giveaway, Daphny gave a resounding and compelling reason why she should win the book and never misses a social media post or comment on my blog. I really hope you love it as much as I did Daphny!
Have a wonderful Fri-Yay and weekending! I’d love to tell you we’re all moved in but well, we’re working on it. Seems to be the story of our lives.
Which part do you think is true?
- No workers showed up on Wed until 7 p.m. -11:00 p.m.
- The quartzite looks gorgeous
- The medicine cabinets are off center of the sink
- We don’t have electrical outlets working
- The plumber is scheduled to instal the toilet and fixtures today but they forgot to order the water heater. OOPS!
If you guessed all of the above..You are right!
Lord give me strength.
So we just stayed in bed a little longer today because it’s Fri-Yay and there’s no one better to snuggle with than Ollie!
