Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

So excited to find this guy at Yellowstone. We think he’s a Bison because he’s so much smaller than a buffalo.

Happy Labor Day to those of you who celebrate it. In the U.S. the first Monday in September we celebrate and pay tribute to the workers and enjoy a 3 day weekend.

If you’ve been following me, then you know that we’re 3 weeks out from our daughter’s wedding and it’s crunch time. While it was tough to get away with Hunter’s recent surgery, my mom saved the day and took him for 4 days, while we headed to our friends daughter’s wedding in Jackson Hole Wyoming at the Grand Tetons (thanks so much mom). Not only was the wedding incredible and surreal standing amongst the incredible mountains as our backdrop it just what the doctor ordered.

Happy Hunter only 5 more days till his cone comes off with his Best Dog Groomer Ever!

“I have never seen so much hair off an animal might make a cool sweater 😂”

If you are like me with animals and a business to run, you might relate to how hard it is to get away which can sometimes feel like it’s hardly worth the effort but in this case it really was.

Thankful for my Mom
Once again she saves the day day
Mom’s are never done!

She hates me to say she’s 86 since she feels 66 most days but she had to put eye drops in 4 times a day and put up with him glued to her side, barking to go out at 12 p.m. Yes, she’s a saint.

A little bit about Jackson Hole straight out of the mouth of google:

“Jackson is a town in Wyoming. Jackson Hole valley, home to 3 ski areas: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee Resort. The Town Square features arches made of shed antlers from the nearby National Elk Refuge. The National Museum of Wildlife Art has works by Andy Warhol and Georgia O’Keeffe. North are the peaks of Grand Teton National Park, as well as vast Yellowstone National Park.”

Picture taken in the town of Jackson Hole.

Before I left I felt like this:

Brain Freeze thoughts criss cross
Time to change the scenery
Take a leap of faith

close up photo of woman closing her eyes
Photo by EKATERINA BOLOVTSOVA on Pexels.com

Sometimes that’s all that’s needed is just a break in scenery and it was so true in this case.

Off to the Grand Tetons for a morning hike:

Every Picture is a backdrop is a feast for the eyes

Off the beaten path
perspective opens insight
Lens wide open

I made this cool flower at the Wild Animal Museum which made it easy to find our car.

Leave the past behind
New foliage replaces dead leaves
Bloom where you settle

Taken on the trail

Natures beast (best) teacher
Demanding respect
Sound advice given

This was so surreal to wake up to. Day made before we left for Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

We took a little excursion to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming which was our first time ever. What a wonderful experience to see these mountains and geysers up close and personal rich in every way possible. It did NOT disappoint.

Old Faithful is a cone geyser in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, United States. It was named in 1870 during the Washburn–Langford–Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to be named. It is a highly predictable geothermal feature and has erupted every 44 minutes to two hours since 2000. Wikipedia

Old Faithful at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming Sept 4th, 2022. 150 year celebration, 1st time to visit

What a difference a few days make……

Sitting on our balcony at Spring Creek Ranch. I highly recommend!

There are so many more haikus and pictures I’d like to share with you all but I’m having trouble uploading pictures so I’ll do a part 2 on Wednesday.

Have a wonderful start to your week until then.

Namaste Friends,

💖

An uplifting post, Cindy! Thank you for sharing it. My sister, my two youngest children, and I spent a few days in Yellowstone about twenty years ago. It is a magnificent place! We also went white water rafting in Idaho on that trip, something I had always wanted to do.

Mothers love us and hope for the best for us no matter how old they are. Glad your Mom was able to look after Hunter for you.

I am looking forward to part two of this post and to some wedding photos. <3

Girlfriend, I am sooooo jealous. I have never been to Yellowstone National Park and always wanted to go. Honey, you are living the life girlfriend. I simply love the shots and the bison…wow, what a photo op! Girl, getting away, as you aptly put it, is what a difference a day makes, and yes ma’am, it does. 😉

Well sweetie pie, I think you took advantage of a little R&R before the final countdown to the wedding. I feel for you, but I think this is truly the most exhilarating time of your life Mommy Nature! I loved the way you injected your poetry in between your photography! Enjoy the rest of your week. Hugs and smooches dawwwwlinkkkkkk! 🥰💋😘💖😍🌺🦋🤩

Cindy, I enjoyed your many photos from your travels. I hope you didn’t get too close to the bison for your photographs. I haven’t been to Yellowstone for a few years, but I’ve been there a few times (it helped being so close when I was growing up and living in Montana).
