Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to all of you that voted for me already on Spillwords as Publication of the Month on Spillwords Press for my poem Memories of You. And thanks for those of you who have tried. I know it is a little tricky having to sign up but I really appreciate you making the extra effort. It means the world to me and it is such an honor to even be nominated so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m a little off my schedule with a wedding fog brain, not unlike the Covid fog but in a great way.

I’m just realizing that today in my time zone we’re only 90 minutes from the 29th which is the deadline to vote. I finally cast my vote but not everyone has been so lucky and had a few snafus. THANKS FOR TRYING!!!

It also occurred to me that you may not have read the poem so here it is….

Memories of you

Memories of You

Love falls softly in my lap
as silkworms land in my hair.
Pictures woven into nests of silk,
bosoms bare, serving love and feeding bellies.

Each strand, woven in a tapestry of perfection.
Seasons brought new adventures;
swinging off a trapeze or floating down the river.

And now I sit, looking at your photographs of sun kissed days
and starlit nights.
Unpacking each undulation,
lovingly and tenderly as cocoons turn into butterflies
and sweep my face in sweet embrace.

Also, I have a published poem coming out Friday from MastecadoresUSA so I won’t be able to share the wedding pics with you until next week but I need a week to catch my breath anyway.

Let’s just say it all started on Thursday night with the rehearsal and dinner and then we had the Welcome Party on Friday night with 200 people at our house. 😜🀩😎. It was fabulous and our house looked the best it’s ever looked after all of the planning with the usual snafus that go into it and now we’re back to the clean up.

The wedding was Saturday where the entire wedding party came to our new bedroom/bathroom to get ready and then to the venue to get married and have their reception. It was beautiful in every way and they were over the moon. Sunday, we had a few family members over for brunch and then collapsed and am just getting back into the swing of things slowly.

Next week, I’ll share the whole story full with pics and videos with you all.

Thanks again for your support and vote!

πŸ’—

Cindy

It’s a beautiful poem, Cindy. I kept trying to vote, but looping icon stayed looping indefinitely, even after refreshing. So finally I sent an email to them to register my vote. All the best, Cindy! Good luck to you. Happy wedding time. Have a nice time.

Cindy, terrifically done. I love your close and the companion picture.

“Unpacking each undulation,
lovingly and tenderly as cocoons turn into butterflies
and sweep my face in sweet embrace.”

I picture a person who is tenderly unpacking the fine little figurines she carefully wrapped for a move. It takes time for the butterfly to escape, so the person is taking time not to break anything.
