Hi Everyone,
I just got word that I was being featured on The Spotlight on Writers at Spillwords Press literally at the same time as I landed in New York City tonight which was wild to me since they are based in New York. As you may know, I never post Sundays but I’m learning never say never.

Thank you so much Dagmara and to everyone on the team for inviting me to do this interview. It was a pleasure.

āEmbracing all aspects of yourself is truly the highest form of Love for yourself and othersā.
We just started phase 2 of the remodel which means drilling through concrete and loud noise so when my friend invited me last minute to come with her, I couldn’t pass it up. Iām delighted to get the chance to see my daughter who lives in Manhattan and hang out with her until next Thursday.

We’re also seeing Kite Runner Monday night on Broadway which I’m so excited about since her friend from high school is an understudy. He didn’t make the wedding because he got to perform when the lead got sick. Not that we wish sickness on anyone, but we are so hopeful that he might be in it and we can see him perform.
A little about the show Kite Runner:
Based on Khaled Hosseini’s bestselling novel, The Kite Runner is a play that begins with two childhood friends in Afghanistan: Amir, a Pashtun Afghan, and Hassan, a Hazara Afghan. Despite their different races, the two boys grow close through their shared love of kite-flying, and they find comfort and brotherhood in each other as their country teeters on the brink of conflict around them. They are happy, though, to have one worry-free day competing in a kite-flying tournament. However, a horrific event occurs that day and tears apart their friendship.
Years later, an adult Amir has moved out of Afghanistan, which has since erupted into full-on war, to the U.S. He and Hassan have not talked in years. But he learns of an opportunity to make amends, which requires him to make a dangerous trip back to his homeland.
I love having no itinerary and just seeing what develops day to day. I know I’ll be walking in Central Park, hitting some museums and seeing some friends here. Who knows what will happen though as we just had an amazing 9:30 p.m. dinner and I was dropped off at her boyfriends apartment since I was falling asleep in my soup. It’s 4 a.m. and they’re not back yet. I’m assuming they are sleeping at her house at this point but this is the town that never sleeps, so who knows.
I do hope I can take my mother hat off and not be a worry wart. His apartment is up 4 flights of stairs and they took the key and I’m starting to fret about figuring out how to get around in the event they sleep the day away and don’t make it back. Being the country bumpkin I am, and I can’t find my way out of a paper bag, I hope I can figure out how to navigate the city.
Alrighty, so there I go worrying about tomorrow, today. Well it is tomorrow now but I’m going to try to head back to sleep and enjoy the fact that I’m completely alone with no responsibilities and give them a piece of my mind tomorrow, today.
If I don’t get back to you right away, you’ll know why… I’m either lost on the subway, walking, at a museum or eating but I will be checking in as time permits.

Loved reading the interview, Cindy, and it seems like it came at quite a fitting time! I love that you are in New York without an itinerary just enjoying what comes your way.
The Kite Runner is such a good book, so I can imagine the show will be lovely. <3
