Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Hey Guys,

Happy Fun”-Fri-Yay but hey at least it’s Friday right?!

So, I’m a bit late today, AGAIN, but when Hunter wakes you up to barking and there’s a raccoon on your deck as big as a bear in the middle of the night, it’s hard to get back to sleep.

Photo by Moritz Kindler on Unsplash

And then, when the house near went up in flames on Tuesday or Wednesday (who can remember the day now), it’s all smoke and mirrors.

But I have a question for you…..

How many people does it take to find a fire when you have 3 plumbers, 2 electricians, 1 contractor and lil ole me in the house?

If you guessed one, you were right! And that one, was me!!!
The smoke detector was going off where they were working and they thought I was cooking. No.. and even if I was, my stove is at the other end of the house.

They all checked what they were doing and said “It’s not me, It’s not me, It’s not me” ( yes, the 3 stooges) and I said well, WE need to find it. Do you ever wonder what happened to common sense? I said “it’s in the laundry room” (across from where they were working) and said “come in here”. They were trying to find ceiling access, but when smoke is coming from down to up, you look down. I opened the dryer and sure enough it was smoking and there was water everywhere.

The question was who started the laundry? It wasn’t me!!!!? I mean who knows if I’m coming or going these days. Turns out it was my husband before he left, at least I’m not losing my mind.

Here’s an update of the next phase if you care to check it out:

NOTE: The Fire-Pole in the middle has been removed…. Hahaha! AND NO, It’s not a stripper pole but they all got a good chuckle when I referred to it as that.

Moving on to the Cat, Mouse & Dog

With all the dogs in politics,
And a couple good ones, few and far between.
There are those cats in the house that stray,
While mice will play and prey.

But let’s not go down that path today,
after all it’s fun Fri-Yayyy!
We’ve no time for child’s play,
Let’s give our minds a break from all of the dog eat dog
& cat eat mouse craziness
of living the dream in the White House
and the world at large.

So I’m keeping it real today folks late as I might be,
And hoping you find humor in all
That comes your way.

Life Pals… Hunter and Ollie.. Because we can ALL smell a dirty rat but this is a cute little mouse❣️

Ollie finally gets a real mouse but the question is what happened to Star our “feral” who used to survive on them. The good life agrees with her.

Late Diwali Celebration

I finally got to see my friend Nila, who I celebrate Diwali with every year when I got home from New York before she headed there right after me, to see her son, family and friends. It’s always a highlight for me. She came over with a mixture to make Sanjori and we combined our ethnetisities in cooking. Who am I kidding, I’m a wanna be something but a mutt. I have however, mastered some greek cooking with the name. I taught her how to make triangles out of filo dough and we cooked together which was really fun. My gift to her/us is the bracelet you might be able to see on our wrist and I’m giving the others to my daughters and friend in New York.

And that my friends is a wrap!

Have a great weekend whatever you do and make the most of what’s left of your Friday!

Hugs, Love and Always Smiles and laughter,

💙💗💙

Cindy

Happy Fun Friyayy, Cindy. Glad you were able to detect the fire before it became dangerous .💕🙏💕 The raccoon is huge, wow, I wonder what he’s been eating. I personally had a bear encounter last night, he tried to take my garbage can💕🤣💕. Phase 2 is looking good. Great pics and videos. Thanks for sharing, my friend. Have a fabulous weekend.💕

My pleasure, Cindy. Yes. Thank goodness for your nose..💕🙏💕 it doesn’t happen too often, maybe twice a year or so. They run off with the slightest amount of noise. I was out of my second floor window when it happened so It wasn’t too scary.💕🙏💕

I hate it when the dryer catches on fire. After 3 rebuilds on our dryer in 20 years, it finally got to where it would cost more to rebuild it than buy and new one. I bought a clothesline instead of a new dryer. Cat and mouse. We often end up catching mice and putting them outside. A lot of the times, the cats have brought them into the house from the catio.

There is propbably nothing wrong with venting the dryer into the attic. It will blow a lot of lint in your attack if you store stuff in the attack it will get covered with drayer lint.

Oh Fire, Fire!! … as an old-time plumber it was usually me that set off the smoke alarm when I was welding copper pipes in the wooden wall frames … but I always had a bucket of water beside me !! … my friendly doggie Frankie got me into trouble yesterday at the Box Office Cafe, when one of the waitresses walk past, he became far too friendly with her leg … hmmm he was in a frisky mood … Cheers from Geelong on our red poppy remembrance day … 🌺🌺🌹🌹

Dear Cindy,

Thank you very much for your latest reporting on your eventful life plus your late celebration of Diwali. In particular, I really like the lovely necklace that you wore, as shown in the last photo. I hope that you can photograph it to show it to me in your next post, as you know how much I love jewellery, as can be seen in my visually striking and further improved post entitled “🌤️🍂 An October to Remember: Greeting Post-Pandemic and Post-Elizabethan Age 👑🏰 with Opals, Calendulas, Poems and Songs 📿🏵️📜🎶“, published at

Wishing you a productive November and a wonderful weekend doing or enjoying whatever that satisfies you the most, whether intellectually, physically or spiritually!

OK, so I am a little bit late replying to this mind-blowing scene of events that occurred in your house. I could not stop laughing my behind off. Girlfriend, this went beyond FUNyay to “What-the-yay” is going on here? Now I couldn’t stop laughing at Ollie! She sniffed out that mouse 🐭 like a blood hound. Then you tell her to be gentle and Ollie thinks, “Yeah right!” 🤣😆😂 Girl, my stomach is hurting from laughing through your entire post! Oh my gosh. Ok next. Now we have that ginormous racoon 🦝 that Hunter 🐶 wanted to have at em! Lord Cindy, it is NEVER a dull moment in the Georgakas household! 😄

Oh, I loved the black stripper pole too! That’s another conversation on another day. Hopefully, the workers weren’t workin’ the pole! 😱 And they thought the burning smell was you cooking? Really? This post was like watching an episode of The Cat in the Hat! Oh my God girl, this was truly a FUN and unbelievable FRIyay! You wore me out! 🤣😜😅😝😂 Dawwwwlinkkkkkk, now you know why I call you the Energizer Bunny! Your batteries just don’t seem to wear out! 🐰🐇🐰 I need to go to bed now after your videos and pictures of your renovation. Seems like deja vu! Nighty night my sweetness! 💤💤💤

OMG, WHEN will the construction process be completed? I’m weary of it – I cannot imagine how you must be feeling! The video clip of the mouse made me laugh with you saying the word “gentle” over & over – that’s what I say to my Izzy when we are play fighting & she bites me too hard! What a gorgeous raccoon! (I’ve never seen them larger than ones I’ve seen in Cali.) And that little field mouse was such a cutie! I’m happy you saved him from the bigger animals! Your poetry was well-composed and on-point, as always. Thanks for sharing your goodness, my friend! 🌞

Thanks for the updates, Cindy. Thank goodness for smoke detectors! I’m glad you found the fire before it got out of hand. And I’m thankful that “normal people” won the election for the most part (dogs and cats and not as many rats). I no longer feel a strong need to leave the country. Congrats to us all for that!
