Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

positive teenagers making gestures at camera

Life is a mirage of ups and downs,

no matter how we spin it.

It’s Friday so rain on me and change my color

from fire engine red to blue.

Everything’s an emergency

and requires urgency,

if one falls down on the job,

they all fall down, the domino effect.

Colors get blurred,

feathers get ruffled

and lands on others.

Do your job,

be grateful you have one,

because you haven’t gotten paid yet,

So, the jokes on you.

It’s Fri-Yay fun or so I say,

so I’m starting with a cream cheese pumpkin muffin.

When all else fails, eat desert first

to put the YAYYYYY in your day!

After all STRESSED SPELLED BACKWARDS IS DESERT!

Happy Fri-Yay Funday and weekending my friends.

I know I said this already but this is the FINAL FINAL UPDATE until the finished product.

Promise!

I don’t have the bandwidth to go into it but let’s just say there have been snafus every minute and tensions are high and mistakes are many and everyone wants to pass the buck.

We’re almost there but in the meantime it’s painstakingly frustrating and unbelievable.

It’s all in a days work in the life of a remodel and what can go wrong, does in construction, it’s Murphys Law but we’re
almost there!

I’m staying optimistic cuz the end is near and this is generally how it goes when you’re this close to finishing.

Have a blessed weekend and remember whatever you’re going through, you’re not alone.

We all have these days.

❤️

Cindy

I love that stressed spelled backward is desserts! Yum! Great way to relieve stress! I’m adding that to my WQW post for this week.

Happy Fun- yayy, Cindy. “I’m staying optimistic cuz the end is near and this is generally how it goes when you’re this close to finishing.” Glad to hear this. It will be so worth it once it’s done, in the meantime, keep enjoying the delicious muffins. Maybe a bit of chocolate too, since we both know how much you love chocolate .💕

What a brilliant point about desert spelled backwards 😀 🥧 🍰
Your final final pre final finale update looks good. Yes, there are all kinds of challenges in the final throes of any project of great value. As is the case for your beautiful remodel.

Oh my gosh my FUNyay Cindaaaayyyyy…no, not the cream cheese pumpkin muffin? 🤣 Girl, how have you managed to stay sane? Maybe you should walk around the house reciting this poem…loudly…and end it with a wicked laugh that will make the workers duck. OR…you can walk around the house reciting your poem while carrying a sledgehammer or machete for special effects! Yeah, I like that one!

Thanks so much for the laughs 😝 and the reality check dawwwwlinkkkkk. I think it’s time for you to grab that much needed glass of something strong! 🍹🥃🍷🥂🍸 Sounds good to me!

LMAO Cindy! How about all three options??? 😂😜🤣 Nah, that’s not you. How wicked of me to think that! 🤨 Yeah right! But I still think walking around with a sledgehammer while laughing a wicked laugh is a good segue to a great murder-mystery story though!!! 😝 Enjoy the rest of your weekend my dawwwwlinkkkkk!!! 🥰💖😘

pumpkin cream cheese muffin sounds like it would take your mind far away from the stressed (never noticed that spelled backward it was desserts — how perfect is that) One step closer to finish with each one. I admire your hard work!

Best of luck with the remodel, Cindy. And I agree with your take on eating dessert first. I’ve begun my day with a strawberry Pocky stick, and it’s impossible to be unhappy when you have a strawberry Pocky stick! 😀 Wonderful poetry as always, my friend. Happy weekend! 🙂

Pocky sticks are a Japanese treat consisting of a “biscuit stick,” which is sort of a long, thin cookie stick (resembling a 4th of July sparkler) dipped in a coating of various flavors such as chocolate, strawberry, etc. They’re might tasty! 😀

Glad you are keeping your optimism and looking toward the goal! My sister just went through a remodel, and it’s been a headache for her, they ended up with some defective tiles so had to call the people back out to replace it. Of course, the workers never come when they are supposed to and its never finished when it should be. The plot has too many holes when it comes to construction and remodeling! 😆

Oh Cindy I so feel for you..I lived in a torn down house(big remodel) for 10 months, that was rebuilt around us, so I really get what you are saying..I might be the last person online to realize that stressed is desserts spelled backwards..I could have used that to my advantage during all that STRESS!!! Good luck and it sounds like you are close now…Just repeat the mantra, “This too shall pass” and it will look Fabulous!! 🙏🌹🌟

I knew a poor cactus who tried to remodel the desert, but it could never finish Architect school because of the mandatory English class. It got kind of prickly when told there were 3 deserts:
desert(1) [di zurt’] — to abandon, forsake, or leave one’s post,
desert(2) [dez’ art] — dry region,
desert(3) [di zurt’] — deserved reward or punishment.

When it finally flowered, it got its just deserts in the desert with stressed desserts and served cactus wine with scorpions to traveling architects with solar panels. Many were stung by the beauty of the desert and they sang the song, ‘Home on the Range’ : “…Home, home, on the range where never is heard a discouraging word, and the sky is not cloudy all day…” (Brewster M. Higley 1870 word of mouth folk song). Oddly, the rattle snakes used more than one ‘s’.
