Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

It’s an honor to share my poem Reflections of the Moon with you that was published on MasitcatoresUsa yesterday, thanks to Barbara Leonard and her team, for their continued support of my work. You can also visit Barbara at her site Extraordinary Sunshine Weaver and read her creative poem, Supersize Me on Spillwords Press, paying homage to our environment.

Reflections of the moon have me ponder all that’s gone on in a dark sky.
Battling of the night, calming of the soul of a broken heart.

To break is to heal,
to bleed is to know you’re alive.
Tears wash our inner world,
scars scab over,
light floods us with memories and chills.
Love washes us clean inside and out.

Love yourself with all the blemishes and bruises.
It’s time to go inside and germinate in stillness and silence.

Words are hit and miss,
music reaches far and wide,
an arrow to the heart,
a bullseye for cold winters night.

I would be delighted if you would would go here and read the rest of my poem.

A special shout out and thank you to Timothy Price: Off Center and Not Even for the gift of his photo.

So many wonderful words here, but I think my favorite is, “It’s time to go inside and germinate in stillness and silence.”

I was deeply moved by your poetic reflections on the power of love and the healing that can come from brokenness. Your words paint a vivid picture of the transformative nature of pain and the beauty that can emerge from darkness.

As you mentioned, sometimes it’s through the breaking and bleeding that we come to know ourselves and truly feel alive. Through tears and scars, we find strength and resilience, and the light of love washes over us, cleansing and healing us from the inside out.

I especially appreciated your call to love ourselves with all our blemishes and bruises. It’s easy to get caught up in self-criticism and shame, but accepting ourselves as we are, flaws and all, is an essential step towards healing and growth.

Your words reminded me of the power of stillness and silence, and the importance of taking time to go within and nurture our inner selves. And, the analogy of music as an arrow to the heart was particularly powerful. Music has the ability to touch us on a deep, emotional level, and can be a source of comfort and connection, especially during the dark nights of winter.

Thank you for sharing your reflections with me. Your words have left a lasting impression on me, and I feel inspired to embrace the beauty and transformative power of love and brokenness. 👍👏👌😊

This was great – really loved this line – “Love yourself with all the blemishes and bruises.
It’s time to go inside and germinate in stillness and silence.”

I’m disagreeing with your last stanza though
“Words are hit and miss,
music reaches far and wide,
an arrow to the heart,
a bullseye for cold winters night.”

I’ve heard way too much music – before I could change the channel or hit skip that was beyond hit and miss! LOL!! I think both are true and can be off the mark!

Hope you had a great weekend, Dear!! Are you loving that your remodel is done? It is, isn’t it?
Back to normal?

Thanks. I just watched the weirdest thing. My liked star turned off. I clicked it back on and so far it has stayed. Isn’t that strange. A good distraction – a blinking star to a doggie’s sad momma. 🙂

Oh my gosh Cindy my dawwwwlinkkkk, CONGRATULATIONS my dear friend. 👏🏼🌙👏🏼 You did a fabulous job on paying homage to our beautiful night star. The moon always makes us reflect. When it was a new moon a few nights ago, I saw it through my Palladian window and stopped in my tracks with my mouth dropped open in awe like a kid. 😲 You are rockin’ it with your publications. Continue to soar my Energizer Momma Bunny! 😍💖😘🥂🥰
