Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

It’s an honor to share my poem Spring Renewal with you that was published on MasitcatoresUsa yesterday, thanks to Barbara Leonard and her team, for their continued support of my work. You can also visit Barbara at her site Extraordinary Sunshine Weaver. Thank you truly for reading and your support which means so much to me.

 Rain taps on our window

flowers push their way through dirt, the sun kisses our cheek.

Rejoice in birthing hope and faith.

Say goodbye to darkness and despair,

making room for light:

Finding renewal.

Grateful for new eyes to see,

embrace each moment, blessed are we.

The sun behind the dark cloud,

force us to dig deep and hold our fragile and broken parts.

I would be delighted if you would go here and read the rest of my poem and share the appreciation with MasticadoresUsa as well.

This is the most rain we have had in California since I can remember and we’re due for another big storm Tuesday. When it rains it pours! So far our drainage fix from the last storm is holding up and we’re not getting any more damage NOK on Wood!

Sending you many blessings of love and warmth as you weather whatever storm you may be going through in life!

💗

Cannot believe all the rain/snow and wind You guys have gotten over the last 3-4 weeks and another big one coming in tonight and tomorrow. I’ve heard the mountains could get 4-8 ft?? Yikes!!! Sorry to hear you had issues with the rain. Glad your fix is holding. Hope it survives the coming storm!!! Will be keeping you and yours and all California in my thoughts and prayers.

This is such a beautiful tribute to the renewal of Spring…When I lived in Wisconsin, Spring was sometimes desperately awaited after long harsh winters. Your words describe so perfectly this feeling of awe to realize Spring is really here. Hope is in the air and oh my..love too..It seems all of Nature is open to love. Gorgeous writing Cindy and congratulations on your publication here.🌷🌷🌷🦋

Nature’s sense of humor is hard to understand. I don’t always get the joke. I can sort of see nature’s reason for a flood plain: nutrients are brought from upstream and overflow into vast fields to fertilize the fields. That works for plants as long as there are no people. Building levees sabotages that, and increases the intensity of flow downstream which makes other problems. I’ve always thought that we should build a bridge lengthwise on a river and put the farmhouse and the barns on the bridge like little castles that have drawbridges that come down when the field is dry and the tractors can drive down. Mother Nature came by once and she was not laughing like in that old margarine commercial “It’s not nice to fool mother nature.” I think the only place where large numbers of people won’t try to settle is Antarctica. Everywhere else people go or escape to no matter how inhospitable and chronically tragic. People fleeing and hiding built Venice. I guess sometimes it works, but there are casualties.

This is a truly beautiful poem about the coming of Spring, Cindy. I love the first lines.’Rain taps on our window, flowers push their way through dirt, the sun kisses our cheeks.’ I love the sound of the rain beating against the window when I’m tucked up safely indoors. I can visualise the flowers pushing their way through the ground, slowly, slowly making an appearance to herald in the new season. It reminds me of those slow-motion (time-lapse) films that nature programmes show. And finally, the sun’s warmth on our cheeks as the first rays of Spring shine brightly. Thanks for sharing this, Cindy, and congratulations for your poem being published with MasticadoresUsa. Xx 💖🌷🌻🌼💖
