Unique Times

The moment I’ve been waiting for and hope you have been too, has arrived. My book RE-CREATE & CELEBRATE is getting ready to launch May 20th. I’m excited to share the cover with you today.

In the 11th hour we changed the cover after much deliberation and back and forth from the bullseye that many of you saw prior to this. While I LOVE the art my dear friend/client and artist Lynn Cornish, allowed us to use, we just couldn’t find the right place for the font. At the end of the day, Ingrid said, “being that this continues not to be quite right, I vote on a picture from your book Blair ( my daughter) did for you in your book Aha Moments”. She sent me a picture and as serendipity would have it, Blair and I had just looked at that picture and debated on it but thought it might be too bright. However, with the right filter that Ingrid added it is perfect and we are all thrilled with it. It takes a village as we all know. I actually took the picture in Hawaii which is a magical spot that always fills my soul to the highest vibration. Up until last night we were still tweaking it. A special thanks to Blair for dropping everything, Jo, Darci, and Ingrids last minute touches.

RE-CREATE & CELE BRATE has been a journey into my life in creation and re-creation in more ways that one and very timely. While we are finishing up phase 3 of our project (we’re in the sheet rocking phase so getting close), life is a journey as we know with twists and turns that ebbs and flows fluidly and in motion. A formless magical moment to moment experience when we stay attuned to the present. And a new surprise awaits on Fri-Yayyyyy Funday in my yoga video. I can’t wait to share it with you.

What started out as a 7 Step self care book with poems behind each chapter, continued to evolve and shift into a teaching memoir with tools and a workbook . RE-CREATE & CELEBRATE turned into a stand alone book with haikus at the end of each chapter. It took time to adjust to since I had my heart set on adding the poetry at the end of each chapter, since most have you have come to know me as a poet. Plus, I thought it was a unique twist. However, as life will have it, what we think and what is right doesn’t always add up and I had to let go of my preconceived ideas and listen to the small voice inside (and Ingrids) and trust the process. Much the same way as I teach clients to do and is outlined in my book. It is a book that is a culmination of everything I have done in my life to live the life of my dreams while supporting others in living theirs.

The silver lining is I will have a poetry companion book CELEBRATING POETRY, coming out just in time for the holidays which will make excellent hostess gifts, stocking stuffers etc.

It’s not much different than life which I’ve experienced in my career and house remodeling project that has taken unexpected turns. One could have never expected Covid to turn my business from a staff of 6 to me, myself and I or my contractor’s wife dying at the young age of 60 during phase 2 of our project. Both of which created shifts and opportunities to readjust and go with the flow. This book would not have been possible with the constant management of staff. I also stopped my group classes temporarily since I have had so much demolition and construction which freed a bit of time for writing.

Working with Ingrid Wilson from Experiments in Fiction EIF has been a joy and her expertise has been invaluable. Never having done this before, I came up against many technical difficulties which are not my strong suit… just ask my kids. She patiently assured me it was coming along fine and this was her job to work out the many details and alleviated the stress and my concerns, giving me the confidence I needed to keep plugging away.

I’m so grateful to have a line up of amazing authors, book publishers and bloggers that will be giving reviews on my book which I’ll be announcing soon.
