Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Good Day my friends,

Today I want to talk to you about time. Time matters. There is nothing I like more that to gaze into the sunset, write poetry, chat with all of you in our comments and my friends and family live in the flesh, dabble in photos, read a book, hike, turn off the clock etc. You get the idea…. If I can find a job that pays to do just that, then sign me up.

If you like me and most the world are anything like me we have a finite amount of time and how we use it to keep our sanity and joy, matters!

To create the life of your dreams this is a big one so you aren’t a slave to time but time is you friend that can free you up to do what you love, then more power to you! Let’s face it, creativity takes time to let your mind wander and pander so that those juicy moments gel into something you want but if you get caught in perfection on every detail and get swept away by everyones whims, you will get no where. I am a pieces which means I’d much rather be swimming and living with rose colored glasses but I’ve learned to do the things I love require using time as a way to free me up rather than pin me down. Also, I’d be lying if I didn’t point out one teaches most what they need to learn and this is a moment to moment learning in process for me.

So for all of you swimmers of the sea and ethereal beings here are some practical tips I’ve learned.

TIPS ON TIME:

  • Say Yes to what you really want to do:

This keeps your vision of focus on what you love and feeds your soul so it’s really important to keep this fore front in your mind.

  • Say No when you can’t fit it in: It frees you up and you stop using mental brain space in your head

None of us like saying no but every-time you say yes to something you don’t want to do, you say NO to you and it robs you of your own inner peace.
I’m so grateful to everyone of you who have written a review on my book and continue to do so and I want to return the favor, I really do. Right now I’m
just trying to stay afloat with my client load, posts, marketing, moving back in, babies coming soon and friends and family. I have to prioritize like you
what I really can do verses all I want to do like you should as well. I want to read every book with my TBR’s calling out to read them but I am taking one
at a time because that’s all I can do at the moment.

  • Set your timer when writing, meditating, exercising

While this might feel contrived at first, it will save you in the long run. Try it and practice with it until it feels comfortable.
  • Develop a 3rd Eye on your priorities and what takes you away from them:

This is really important so that you have your goals in mind and don’t fritter your time away. I know I’d much prefer mindless searching for things than get to the task at hand.
  • Schedule your fun time and desert for those yummy times guilt free
  • Take pictures on your own for your blog posts: Scanning for the “perfect picture” can take hours… trust me!
Pictures are important to me and I can’t tell you how much time I’ve wasted on searching. Now if this is my scheduled off time then great but it can put lots of pressure when I really am on a time schedule.
  • Learn Good Enough is Good Enough
  • Keep your comments in your blog to a minimum unless you have all the time in the world.

I know it’s important when building your platform and I love to interact with people and I’ll be the first to admit that I spend way too much time commenting but its important to me and I love it. I am trying to just comment on one post rather than all of them for those that post multiple times a day.
  • Limit your social media
I know how important it is is sharing your word and building your platform but guys, you will go crazy trying to stay on top of every moment even if you have someone who helps you with that. It can be all time consuming if you let it. Again, schedule that in.
  • Schedule your posts or writing and the time you can afford to spend to avoid the pressure.
Sometimes like today, I’m just too tired to schedule it and need the extra sleep. It also keeps might writing succinct and it’s good practice
to write off the cuff. I will warn you that you will make mistakes which I loath but it’s a trade off.
MAKE TIME WORK FOR YOU!

So with that I’ve got lots more to say but I’m off to the races cuz I’m out of time and my timer went off.

A quick thank you to Mich for her incredible review of my book which truly touched me so deeply. And congratulations to her for her poem being nominated for Popular Demand for Publication of The Month of June on Spillwords.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank Selma for sharing her thoughts and favourite quotes from my book. I am so thankful!

I’ll be back Fri-Yay to share their fun reviews and reels as well as to some more fun which I never know what that might be from one day to the next around here.

Have a wonderful day and lots of love with the time you deserve to make your moments meaningful in everything you do. Please remember if you liked this video, please subscribe to my YouTube channel!

Blessings of Love,

💗

Cindy

Love your tips, Cindy! A few years ago I set a timer in Facebook to an hour and not long after discovered I was on it far less than one hour a day! Ha! It works!
I am on all other social media less than an hour a week, except WordPress.

Retirement has been nothing like I imagined. I’m busy all the time, which means I have learned to be more efficient. I also was the type of person who couldn’t say no during my career, but I’ve finally learned not to try and be Superman. Part of that includes saying no to others, but as much of that is directed at myself. I treat time like the precious commodity that it is. It makes me feel better about myself when I have the self-discipline to stay focused.

One of your ideas that registered with me the most is taking our own pictures. Yes, I’ve wasted too much time, trying to find the perfect photo online and then getting distracted by other things.

The interpretation of time is different for everyone. I can imagine someone like Elon Musk who rides above the tide, thinks he is the master of time which is amazing because he is so confident of his abilities. For some people, time is never on their side. And then there are those who like to go with the flow. I think time runs on its own path and we are just people who try to find our path around it.
Have a great day, Cindy. 🌻

I rarely have enough time for allusions and illusions that pop into mind; can’t look up song credits: ‘tick-a-tick-a … timing– whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa…” || “Time, time, time is on my side, yes it is…” [ear worms], and for the nihilist philosophers, time is not an illusion — time is the counting of events and the choosing of boundaries. As someone once said, “Time is a rapist: it screws with all of us. Just say no.” This all needs edits and, and, and……nevermind

Hi Cindy, you are correct that time has to be prioritised other wise we can waste it or become overwhelmed trying to do to much. Congratulations on another lovely review.

Have to agree, Cindy. For most of my life, I have been in control of my own time by either working on my own or being the “boss.” One thing I learned is the more time you have to control, the more important planning is. As much as possible I try to focus on things that are important to me, and I would add, Peggy. 🙂

Nice tips on time management Cindy. Great advice especially the ones of scheduling time on yummy moments😂😂, I am a slave to food haha. Anyways, this is very true especially the part of saying YES on the things you really want to do which for me it is blogging, listening to music whilst I write my mens fashion & style blogs because it helps unlock the creative juices🙌

I totally need to remember your advice on saying yes to things you don’t want/don’t have time to do! I use my timer a LOT…especially when I have a long to-do list and only want to curl up and read. Timer goes off…work the list. Timer goes off, read the book. Repeat through the day, its amazing how much you can get done on both! 💞💞💞
