Happy Wise Wednesday to You All!

This post is a little bit like “Dance as if Nobody’s Watching” said so well by William Watson Purkey.

He went on to say “love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth. ‘ Later, the phrase ‘Work like you don’t need the money’ was added, often credited to baseball great Satchel Paige”.

Living in a household of non bloggers and writers can be hard, especially when you’re vacationing with them. When everyone is laughing around you, thrown their cares to the wind, hanging, telling stories, watching movies and playing games, it can make you feel a little like a 3rd wheel. I’m playing my fair share of games, hanging at the lake and yucking it up with them but life without blogging and writing is like a day without sunshine for me.

I have to say they don’t poke fun at me as much now that I have a book out. Maybe it’s given them some idea that their mother is doing something worthwhile. As a matter of fact, my youngest daughter from NY said “Mom, your book is really good and I’ve tried to call you 6 times to tell you how impressed I am”. I can’t tell you how rewarding that was to hear and then to see them all at the beach reading it. She did proceed to let me know that I wrote etc about 15 times in my book which should be taken out completely. Wait, isn’t everything in life etcetera etcetera? 🤣

Blogging only feels difficult to me when I am stuck on a technical issue that sends me over the edge as I try to find a solution which can be upwards of over an hour or picking the “perfect” picture which I’ve quite given up on… (I hope, like I said in my last post).

In my 4 minute video which you can listen to instead of read if you prefer, I highlight listening to your own voice and pleasing yourself instead of everyone around you. It’s critical for you to have a fulfilling happy life.

Here is an excerpt from my book Re-Create & Celebrate: 7 Steps To Live The Life Of Your Dreams: (you can buy it there by clicking the link if it’s in you list of TBR (to be read).

Take some time to see if what you say you want is truly for you, or if it is to please someone else. It can be anything from wanting to go on a trip, wanting a new car, a new job, losing weight, getting in shape, getting healthier, being on time, breaking off a relationship, going to the moon, being free of anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, shyness, ob- sessions, PTSD, addiction to alcohol, drugs etc. Truly, this is your dream, so you get to choose. Write down any and everything without filtering it. This is your list, and you get to play and have fun with it. It also doesn’t have to make sense; it just must feel right.

That’s right, this is your life and no sense turning yourself into a pretzel for others!

Good News; I have one 3 boutiques that are looking at my book and one large bookstore in our area that are considering my book in their book store. I’m elated to say the least.

Have a wonderful wise Wednesday following your bliss and living your life your way!

Blog as if no one is watching and if they are don’t apologize for it… it’s your life after all so blog your heart out.

Have a wonderful wise Wednesday following your bliss and living your life your way!

Blessings of Love,

💗

You are going to enjoy my chapter in Yvette’s book. You are more over the top committed, though or maybe my friends and family just don’t have as much fun. Having cut back to one day a week, my life is much more manageable.

I’ve had it to proofread only. I’m not the best proofreader in the world! I almost lost my job once at a company that printed custom Christmas cards. My boss called me into the office and showed me the word BRAIN in huge capital letters. She said, “What does that say?” I promptly read it as BRIAN, which was what it was supposed to have been but I missed it. She moved me to another department, LOL.

This, indeed, is very wise advice. There are too many times I’ve caught myself being a people pleaser or a ‘pretzel’ as you put it. Good for you for realising to just do what makes you happy without apologising or feeling bad about it. And congratz on the success with your book! That’s definitely the dream.

Whatever you have stated here is quite relatable to most of the bloggers, but a smiling Cindy sharing pearls of wisdom and experience in a video is far better experience than own blogging. I’m surprised you have used etc in your book only 15 times. I think it should be more. Have a happy and wise Wednesday ❤️💐🙏

I’ve neglected my blog for so long now, I can’t speak for myself on this topic, but until recently I could. Being the only blogger in the family is like being the only photographer in the family. Or like having a date in nature, or to go on an outing anywhere with a non-photographer. You see frustration in their eyes. This line from your excerpt hits home… “Take some time to see if what you say you want is truly for you, or if it is to please someone else.” Wise words, Cindy. Thanks for sharing.

Family members or not, nonbloggers don’t understand us. Listening to the video as I comment. Blogging for self vs blogging for others is a delicate balance. In my blogging peak, I was posting 6 days a week … and I did that for many years. Then it hit me, was I do that more for self or for my readers? Then someone somewhere wrote, don’t overwhelm the readers. Bingo …. I’ve settled on posting once a week – therefore writing for self and readers without overwhelming the audience. Hope all is well!

Lol… Before we went on holiday,my sister told me, ‘Please don’t work.’ She says’work’ now that my book’s out. But, I’d wake up in the morning to blog, and she would very sweetly make tea for me. It’s nice to have a family that understands. Congratulations on your book, Cindy.

Too many pretzel years here, Cindy! My struggle now is finding out exactly who I am, and what I want to ‘be when I grow up’. Considering I’m 53…I may want to figure that out one of these days 😉
