Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Happy Fun Fri-Yay Everyone!

Who was the sage that shared “Press Pause” just 2 days ago on Wise Wednesday’s’ post and her line about time:

When we have lots we want or need to do, it can feel like we are racing against the clock. The difference is the clock doesn’t care. It just keeps on going but we can crash and burn, so make sure you do something everyday that feeds you emotionally and physically.

Some wise writer that either had a premonition or wasn’t staying present and was doing too many things at one time did, when she backed up into her daughter’s car in the driveway. The saying “yes, I got hurt but you should see what happened to the other guy, applies here” (luckily my car was worse).

Image Compare never works well for me but you get the idea

Note the RED LIGHT warning sign… oops. To be fair, everyone in my family should know NEVER to park behind me and read my blog the morning because I give warning signs in my messages 😉. So see, it’s NOT my fault. 🤣!

I take full responsibility for plowing into the car regardless and at least it was our own cars and no one was hurt but it did stop me in my tracks.

Cindy

It’s embarrassing for sure because it’s not the first time this has happened but more importantly, a time to get my own book out and answer a few questions. It’s the mad dash to finish the contracting, getting black out shades for the babies room coming anywhere between now and next month, with a full client load, helping my dad etc.

Speaking of babies, my mother and sister in law had a beautiful shower for my girls at my moms house where we played games and blessed them with a birthing bracelet that everyone put their energy into before they put them on their wrists. Thank you mom and sis for an amazing shower.

It’s particularly special to welcome new life when 2 beautiful friends both lost their battle with cancer way too young. One was a client that I worked with for years and anytime she had a health scare she would say “at least it isn’t cancer”. Her mother died of cancer when she was young and it always loomed over her her shoulder. I have many things of hers in my house and wardrobe I covet that bring warm feelings of joy. My heart and prayers is with all of the families.

pink ladies in waiting,
the miracle of life.
Others mourning lives, taken too soon.
Each a blessing in joy and in sorrow,
leave imprints on our soul.
The circle of life,
have no promises of tomorrow.

Great News on my Book Baby:

First off, check it out: My book Re-Create & Celebrate & 7 Steps To Turn Your Dreams Into Reality (as if you don’t know the name by now hahaha), has been accepted by Books Inc. in Town & Country Village in Palo Alto, thanks to Cheenie Durham the manager. She was so gracious and I am so grateful. Thank you so much Cheenie! (Click the link Books Inc below to order online)>

She’s already ordered 5 books which will take about 10 days to receive since it’s coming from La VergneTennessee. If you, like me, like to support your local bookstore you now have a place to support and can ether order at BOOKS INC., or call directly 650-321-0600 and order it and they will call you as soon as it comes in.

I will be doing a talk and maybe my launch there in August as well. I’ll keep you posted. She will order a lot more of them for our event but UPS is going on strike so I have to get planning soon since I will be at both births (one at home and one at the hospital) around the same time as the talk.

A huge shout out to my friend Lauren Scott from Baydreamer Blog for her beautiful review of my book along with D.L. Finn’s Book, In The Tree’s Shadows (a collection of stories that live in your dreams…. and nightmares) and Colleen M. Chesebro’s book Fairies, Myths & Magic, and enchanting collection of engaging prose and poetry about fairies, myths, and magic. Press the link above for the full review of all of our books if you would like to read. It was such an honor to be included amongst wonderful friends and writers in her post.

Here is part of her review that she wrote about my book on her Post and Amazon:

Nice Picture Lauren and thank your hubby for taking it!

Lauren Scott5.0 out of 5 stars An empowering book for those who still seek the answers!Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 11, 2023Verified Purchase

Do you ever carry self-doubt around? Are you a people-pleaser? Are you still trying to figure out your life? If you answer yes to these questions, then Re-Create & Celebrate by Cindy Georgakas is the book for you. I’ve been following Cindy’s blog for a while now, and have grown to admire the caring, vibrant, woman she is. So, I couldn’t wait to read her debut book. I would be hard-pressed to believe that everyone has their life figured out to a tee, no need to ask questions or ponder mysteries. In some ways, I do, but in others, I’m still searching as I bet you are, too.

Georgakas shares her suggestions and knowledge drawn from her experience of being a life coach, and the language she uses is down to earth. She is not shy when it comes to showing her vulnerability. She is simply like you and me, trying to live life to its fullest. The book is organized into 7 Steps To Turn Your Dreams Into Reality, and she ends each chapter with a powerful haiku. Here is a sample…

stay grounded in self
listen with all your senses
open to insight

Re-Create & Celebrate is an empowering book to reiterate how crucial self-love is, how to realize our goals and achieve them, and to enhance personal growth. Highly recommended for all who are still seeking those awaited answers!

Thank you so much Lauren for this amazing review capturing the essence of my book. To read her full review please click on her review about or go directly to the Amazon link, where my book is available for purchase and read it there.

If you don’t know Lauren yet, you will love her. Not only is she warm, witty and engaging with a heart of gold, she is wise beyond years and her poetry and stories speak for itself. She lives just over the Golden Gate Bridge with her hubby and lab, just a small jot away from me and I have no doubt we will meet in person at some point.

She is the author of 3 books soon to be 4, so stay tuned. I read her last book More than Coffee, memories in verse and prose which was a window into her beautiful mornings where she gets her inspiration for her writing.

About the Book

More than Coffee touches on love and loss, nature and endurance, marriage and parenting. In these memories, humor diffuses fear and taking risks proves to be a powerful method in boosting self-confidence. Through it all, whether in the wilderness near a sparkling lake or in the comfort of home, there’s nothing like a good cup of coffee. A poignant and reflective collection of verse and prose that is best enjoyed sipping your favorite coffee roast.

My Review

This 63 page paperback book is a quick read that infuses your soul in much the same way as coffee infuses our morning unless you are a tea drinker, in which case, it’s the same essence. It’s rich and delicious and gets our morning juices flowing, pondering on all we are grateful for. Lauren writes as a gift of her legacy to carry her beautiful experiences of her early years to life’s daily journey capturing moments in print for safe keeping.

Her poetry is forthright with meaning and metaphor’s without having to try to extrapolate what she means. She shares from her heart and it’s as though you are sitting across the table with her, enjoying dunking a cookie in your favorite beverage as you laugh and smile together. Her words leave you pondering your own life, inspiring each of us to stop and smell the roses.

Her love of her family and children comes through on each page and the deep love and connection to her hubby (as she refers to him) is inspiring and heartfelt after 34 years. He is her soulmate as they traverse each day whether it’s hiking or sitting on their patio. There are so many poems that pull at your heartstrings but one of my favorites is the one she writes in honor to her husband.

Celebrating 44 years of marriage this Saturday myself and 51 years of being together is so relatable to me and one to covet and remember:

Do you trust me? Will you
take my hand and let me
lead the way to a place
transcending the boundaries
of our reality? Let us get
lost in the tranquility –
dancing to the majesty of
the surroundings, feeling the
rhythm vibrate through our
bones. For as long as our
hearts desire, this is our
destination. For time is
but a memory. Its existence
leaves no trace on the path
where we tread. There is
only you, me, and the
intensity of our belonging
to each other.

If your haven’t read it yet, get a copy and savor each delicious word as you sip in the sweetness of this 5 Star read. You’ll be glad you did!

Lauren’s new book, Ever So Gently is coming out at the end of this month and is not to be missed.

I mentioned I would share my niece’s review that she wrote on Amazon but it isn’t out yet, so I’ll share it when it comes through.

Stay blessed, listen to your heart and breath. Can you tell I’m talking to myself too? Hahaha

Love and Laughter,

💗

First, congratulations on the local book store supporting your book. I occasionally will hear from someone who tells me they saw mine in one of ours. Of course, I’ve also had a friend recently tell me he saw one of my book at the used discount bookstore for 50 cents, so it keeps me humble.

Since you told us about your faux pas, here’s my contribution: About ten years ago, we took a cross-country trip and logged many miles. As we got back into town after nearly three weeks, I told me wife how grateful I was that the vehicle held up and we avoided any accidents. After we got home, I unloaded the car in the driveway. I went into the driveway and expected our other vehicle might have a dead battery. I was pleasantly surprised when it fired right up. Inexplicably, I chose that moment to back the car out of the garage and promptly hit the first vehicle. Two for the price for one. Boy, did I feel stupid.🤣 At least, I can laugh about it now.
