Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

Dear Friends,

There are no words to share the gratitude I felt when I read the below review on Amazon about my book Re-Create & Celebrate: 7 Steps To Live The Life Of Your Dreams.

For those of you who read it, you may remember in my acknowledgements I shared how proud I was of my niece for living an independent life.

I have spent all these years, working with others and myself as you know from my book, putting the pieces together, which has been a blessing. My niece said she bought my book and read each chapter and answered the questions one at a time and absorbed each word and took them in. She read it slowly with intent and took it to heart and shared with me personally how much she enjoyed it,

When I read her review the other night I was so deeply touched and so grateful. It was an affirmation to keep sharing my heart and to encourage you to share yours. We just never know when we might touch upon an opening for someone that is ready to come take the nuggets we have to offer and use them in their own lives to the fullest, as is the case with my niece.

Here is her review of my book first and then a poem she wrote and wanted me to share.

Misty Lopez5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read!!Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 11, 2023

My aunt Cindy, the author of the book, writes a very real and broken down step by step process on how to take negative things that have affected your life and turn them into a positive. She shares personal experiences to show that even she has struggled in her past and has learned to grow from her struggles each and every day, and is still growing.
Her book has not only inspired me to write my own story, but has helped me figure out who I am and what my purpose is in this life. I admire my aunt so much for putting herself out there like this. She is an inspiration, my role model, and one of my best friends. Love you aunt Cindy and thank you for creating one this one of a kind book about self love and healing ❤️

Is that not enough to make your heart melt! Thank you so very much for sharing the review Misty. I am truly proud of the life you have created as you continue healing and being your best self on your journey

Blessings to all of you and thank you for a lovely review Misty❣️

❤️

Wow! Misty is so courageous in wanting to tell her story, and I hope she can manage to start her own blog to tell more. Please let me know if she does: I’d like to read it and hear more about this brave young woman.

It is so nice to meet Misty. She is a courageous girl. She is brave enough to accept it openly what’s she’s been through and survived. I really hope she writes a book or has her own blog. Or even better the niece and the aunt could create some magic together. More power to Misty and you Cindy have wonders in your hands❤️

That poem absolutely broke my heart. I can’t even begin to imagine what she’s been through but she is so brave to share it and I wish her the best in her journey to heal. If she decides to start her own blog, I would love to support her too so please do let us know if she does 💖

Powerful Cindy and what a brave soul your niece is. I’m glad you were able to be a present support system that she needs. I can certainly empathize being on the receiving end of abuse. Not a positive feeling at all. Bless you my friend. 🤗🙏🏼😊💖🌟

Honey, that quality of yours, unable to look the other way when someone is in need is one of your most admired qualities. 🤗💖🥰 Yet, if we are not careful, it can be a health hazard too. We just find a nice medium to dwell in. You do it oh so well! 💁🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ Cheers ladybug!

Wishing you all the best, Misty! When I was young, they used to say, “You’ve come a long way, Baby!” I know your aunt Cindy is so proud of you for that. Your life is your own. <3 <3 <3 Wishing you health, happiness, and success!

Writing about our own personal hell is always difficult, but those of us who are brave enough to do so experience a unique form of liberation and healing. It’s so scary to share our pain with the world, but when we open that door, that’s when the light comes in (to paraphrase Leonard Cohen). I applaud Misty for taking that first step towards liberation and healing…and I applaud you, Cindy, for being the amazing person you are and for dedicating your life to helping others. That makes you a miracle worker in my opinion. Best wishes to Misty as she continues her journey, and keep shining that light, Cindy–you’re making the world a better place, dear friend. 🙂

Cindy, with tears streaming down my face, I’m in awe of Misty’s courage and the LOVE that propelled her to purge her emotions and her heart. You have a heart like no other, C. Will you please tell Misty that I already love her? She’s an inspiration for so many. Because of the love of an aunt, and your “calling” to write this book and SHOW LOVE…well, your niece is on path of healing already. What an inspiration! C, my oldest sister is mentally ill. My parents have raised her daughter, my niece, who has Cerebral Palsy (mild, but she suffers with cognitive due to her parents’). My sister has SO many “labels”. She sometimes scares me around my elderly parents. I can talk about this here, at your place, but cannot on my blog because of certain family members who read. I pray to God that my niece doesn’t allow the hate and mental anguish to take over. My parents, at their ages, will not be here. It’s a lot for my twin to shoulder and now, I have Stage 4 cancer and I have A LOT to stay alive for—my kids, little grands, my niece…my twin…my older sister? I don’t know what we’ll do, C. But she is angry at me for having cancer. It’s so hard to make a decision to place boundaries; but are necessary for “thriving”. I thank God for you, your niece, and the love and light you exude and provide for others! I’m so proud of you and this amazing and courageous young lady! I love you! 💕💕

Dear Cindy, you brighten my life. My life is better with you in it. Even if I don’t “see” you (my life is so inconsistent these days), I “feel” your presence, energy, and love. Thank you, thank you, thank you for these affirming words. I’m so proud of your niece and you! I will tuck your wisdom in my heart—yes, it’s painful at times to sever ties—and necessary for one’s own health! I’ve learned the hard way in years of relationship endings. I NEEDED this post. I hope your niece knows how she inspired me. God gave the words to me just as I needed them. This is not coincidence! I thank God for you, Cindy! Off to go for more infusions today—I’m glad they’re staying on top of my blood and helping me get stronger. I imagine all these trips to the chance center as my “mountain outings” LOL! Much love as you continue your journey of selflessly giving your time, soul, mind, and body to so many others! ❤️💛💕🤗💚🙏

Your niece’s courage is remarkable. I knew abuse in my first marriage and rarely speak of it. My children and I discuss it between ourselves, but I never wanted to make them uncomfortable and speak publicly of their father and his cruel side. It took me many years of counseling and self-work to climb out of the muck–physically–and more importantly, emotionally. Thank you for writing about this Cindy and helping others in abusive situations.

You know how as writers we often hear, “if your words only help one person”? Well, now you know who that one person is. And it made all the difference. Your words, your book, and your acknowledging your niece’s past, this will ALL help her move forward in life with grace and ease, healing as she goes. This is why we write.
I love this! Blessings in ALL ways!

Cindy, what a responsibility you had, sharing this with all of us. I appreciate how you handled this. I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine anyone even thinking about suicide at age six and then having the maturity not to follow through. Her six-year-old thought process was super impressive. What a mature little girl who struggled with adult problems. My prayers go out to this young woman. What a precious soul.

What a touching story, Cindy! I salute the courage and conviction of Misty, which in Hindi and Bengali means “sweet.” She has beautifully reviewed your book. Her clarity and bravery as reflected in the conversation add to her sweetness. A person like her can share a lot for herself and for the benefit of others. It’s better for her to start a blog of her own. And you, Cindy, have a golden heart that inspires all who come in contact with you. Wishing you and Misty all the best ✨🙏💕🙏
