Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

I’m so grateful to share my poem “The River” on published on MasticadoresUsa, thanks to Barbara Leonhard and team. Thank you to all of you who have already read it there on Sunday and your kind comments. If you missed it, here it is for your viewing.

I thought better of crossing the river,

but my heart led the way,

one slippery step at a time.

I nearly reached the boat,

but slipped and fell,

hitting rock-bottom.

My head, spinning, gagging on water,

out my throat and nose.

Dizzy, delirious, and nauseous, I sank.

Was this the beginning or the end?

I would be honored if you would continue reading the rest of my poem here. Thank you so much for your continued support of my work and supporting this Literary Magazine and once again thank you Barbara and team. I’m grateful to be A Treasured Contributor. They welcome submissions of all kinds.

Blessings,

❤️

Cindy

That’s a vivid and introspective description of a challenging situation. It reminds us that even in difficult times, there is potential for a new beginning. Well expressed verses my dear Queen 👸 ❤💛🧡💙

Terrific stuff! (This coming from someone who doesn’t read much poetry.) Your choice of words makes this very visceral. (Gagging on water, dizzy, delirious, and nauseous). I loved your ending, which implies this experience may be the start of something new.

Well done, my friend. Sometimes life feels like that. And the boots? A lesson learned for next time. Hugs.

Deeply poignant poem. I love the last two lines indeed, some help to add Grace to one’s sure footed steps is the best way really to keep one head above water (as in…jiggling many responsibilities that the sea of life brings ashore).

Indeed, sweet waves of a positive future often originate as an unexpected and distasteful realization associated with hitting rock-bottom. Beautiful poetry as always, dear 🧜‍♀️ Cindy ~ thanks for sharing your swim! 💞
