Unique Times

Where I share my jewels of wisdom of life

woman in dress sitting on rock against blue sky

Someday is today and today I’m a vapid fossil and that’s ok.

When you give yourself time and space you will emerge and be

the “rock star” you are meant to be.

Move fast or slow, just move.

Cindy

I’m fossilized into the chair like the bolts that hold it together.
Sometimes I need to be held.
My brain is vapid searching for meaning.
Today is Move It Monday but what if I sat and became the chair and my mind stared empty into space all day?
Sometimes I need to space out.
It’s raining after all.
What about you?

I had plans to get my daughters and babies together for a mommy and me workout but life happened and I didn’t make it happen.

Some days are like that you know?

Some days I feel cold as the rock I climb.
Some days the hill crumbles and I slide coming down.
Someday is today and today I’m a vapid fossil and that’s ok.

My bones creek and my hips ache but it’s Move It Monday so I’ve gotta lube the joints and chisel my way out of the chair I have become. Just give me a minute to unwind and fire the engines that take more time to start these days. I might stay in first gear all day and move slow.

It’s Move It Monday but who says I have to hit the ground running?

Neither do you but move you will and drag yourself out of whatever chair or mood you’re in. Move fast, move slow, just move in some fashion or we will become the Fossil and inertia will set in.

Once we’re up and running our bodies kick in and start to unwind as we honor our bodies where they are. So start slow and see where it leads you.

Happy Move It Monday!
You are a Rock Star!
And don’t you forget it or I’ll have to come drag you up and out. Tomorrow might be different but since it’s promised to no one, let’s just honor where we are today and remember it changes from moment to moment.

OOPS, I ACTUALLY FORGOT TAPPING ON THE OTHER SIDE SO ADD THAT IN. SORRY!

Have a wonderful week ahead!

Smiles,

💗

Cindy

A vapid fossil – how funny. You are anything but a vapid fossil. I feel that way sometimes, but for me that might be more accurate than for you! For you, never! 🙂

I needed your poem today. I’m battling with Amazon to get the Kindle version of Story Chat to display in portrait mode rather than landscape. There are NO numbers to call for KDP. Grrrrrrrrrr Put me in a vapid fossilized state. 🙂

It’s good to be reminded that we need to move. It’s also good to excuse ourselves when we don’t. Maybe Move-It Monday can be Ta-Ra-Ra Tuesday. Not that I want to wreck expectations or obligations. But I wouldn’t have us ruin our esteem, either. Your commitment to your family is so clear. I hope you can rearrange or have another time together soon.

Thank you, I hope your week is pleasant, too.

Cindy, I love how you encourage all to “honor our bodies where they are.” That’s the line that really stood out for me in the post, though I enjoyed the poem too. It spoke to me in much the same way as I was training pretty hard on my (now indoor) bike the last few days and aware of my knees, so took it easy with some brisk (gingerly) walking in light rain and snow/ice. Hopefully your get-together with daughters and babies can happen soon!

What a great poem! I force myself to keep moving by taking long walks, working in the yard, doing housework, and pushing a wheelbarrow filled with dirt around the yard (it’s great exercise and really works the muscles). I have degenerative disc disease in my back, and injuries from moving patients and a serious car accident, and I can’t sit for long periods. The exercise strengthens my back and abdominal muscles, keeps me more limber, and decreases the pain in my back and legs. I only take ibuprofen and a muscle relaxer at night. I feel lucky I can walk. I could barely walk for six months after my car accident, but I didn’t miss a day of work, which seems crazy to me now. But my mother always taught us to keep going by her own example. Great post, Cindy!

I love this post, Cindy! It feels as if you wrote it for me. 🙂 Since my foot issue, I don’t walk the way I use to, no power walking, and each step with my right foot is soft, normal, but softer than before. Before this damn nerve threw a wrench in my routine (excuse the language). And my left leg aches every now and then. Every pain I have is intermittent, not constant which is a good thing, but so random that they’re hard to diagnosis. Anyway, I’m not complaining because it’s not chronic pain, but I need to get on my bike more. Motivation has been hiding during this time with my FIL’s decline and passing. But I’ve told myself that I have to get back on track. I apologize for the venting, but I love your words and chair metaphor, so well written. I am walking Copper again so that’s good, but we’re both slower. LOL Oy vey! 😃🩷

I still want to hike too, but I’m not sure what the future holds. My foot pain is so unpredictable, Cindy. I didn’t have pain for almost 3 months, even during a camping trip in August with light hiking, and then in October it flared up. Several jolts out of the blue during the month. If I had let it, it would’ve messed up my mind, but I’m not giving it that power anymore. The jolts are quick and have been mild which is tolerable. It’s not everyday or chronic for which I’m thankful. So I acknowledge and move on. Now for 2 weeks, it’s been silent. I’m feeling more normal but with a cloud hanging over me because each day could be different. The doctors don’t have answers, but I’m still wearing Hokas, comfy but casual :), and using CBD cream and I just tried acupuncture with two more treatments coming up. I can’t tell if anything works because of the intermittent pain, but psychologically it helps. And then for the last month I’ve had new, dull aching in my left leg. My doctor said that it sounds like aches from aging. Ugh! is right! But it’s not bad. I can deal with it. Like you said, I had to come to terms with the foot pain because it may be something I’ll have to deal with moving forward. So, I believe that’s what I’ve done. On a lighter note, maybe someday we’ll meet in person. That would be fun! Take good care and I will do the same. 🩷🤗

It’s a reminder that we all have our days of feeling stuck, but the important thing is to keep moving, whether fast or slow. Take your time, and you’ll find your rhythm. Keep going! Unique inspiration always. Loved the video my dearest Queen 👸 ❤ lots of love n respect 🥰🙏🙏🙏
